RIP Leonard Nimoy (1 Viewer)

Losing these guys is tough. Childhood heroes. Especially one who carried himself with such dignity off the screen. RIP

MeTV ... Spock has to go back home to bang some Vulcan dames.
Bones with the ole "Neuro-Paralyzer" trick.

Tomorrow, beginning at 6PM Central, MeTV will show a block of Leonard Nimoy's guest appearances on a variety of shows.
Last night was an episode of The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Nimoy and Shatner were in this episode together. That was pretty cool.

William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy appeared together in a 1964 episode, "The Project Strigas Affair", a full two years before Star Trek aired for the first time. Shatner played a heroic civilian recruited for an U.N.C.L.E. mission, and Nimoy played a rival of the villain's henchman.
Youtube charges for this episode, but I found it here for those who haven't seen it.

Ok...just so i have this straight...Captain Kirk traveled all over the universe seeking out new life and new civilizations...boldly went where NO man had gone before ...spent years visiting new planets and traveling at the speed of light ...but he couldnt make it to Florida to pay his last respects to his dearest friend Spock? That messed up dude

I am not sure there is a more recognizable TV character.

Several years back the show Combat was being shown regularly on one station. I really enjoyed these shows and while watching one, all of sudden, there was Spock!
I like that show. They've started running it again late nights on a local station here.

Not really. He decided to keep a commitment he made to the Red Cross.

Spock would find your outrage to be highly illogical.

"Hours...could seem like days..."(appropriate for an 83-year-old man facing a cross-country airplane ride)

Grantland has a piece about Nimoy's career. I knew Shatner had a passive-aggressive jealousy of Nimoy during their time on the show together, but the writer gave a couple of specific examples. LIFE magazine wanted to photograph Nimoy having his Spock ears affixed, but Shatner didn't want anyone to see his toupee being glued so he tossed the photographer out of the dressing room.

And if you knew anything about Jews, they have to be buried very soon after death. With Shatner (probably) contracted to do the Red Cross event, going cross-country overnight probably was expecting a lot of an 80-something year old man.

I gotta think that in a roundabout way, Nimoy's deat and Shatner's decision to do the event greatly helped the Red Cross. That place was probably packed to meet one of the remaining Star Trek members and to hear stories about Nimoy. And I think Nimoy would be happy if the Red Cross got some more money due to his passing.

In this case, "the few" = people whining about Shatner not going to Nimoy's funeral.

Off the top of my head, Shatner, Uhura, Chekov and Sulu are the only ones left.
