Robert Thomas to GBP (1 Viewer)

The Pack also cut Raynoch Thompson, so there's an open spot at WLB which I'm guessing Paris Lenon assumes for now. IIRC, Thomas usually plays MLB, so was he acquired for depth or is GBP planning for him to eventually play WLB? He looked so promising coming out of college, but seemed to fall out of favor with Martz.Yes, I'm desperate for LB starters....

Hey Rusty-Haven't seen anywhere that Lenon is starting.

Have seen Lenon as the b/up SLB and MLB

before Thompson was cut, but nothing since.

I would think the recently traded for Thomas

could be in the mix for the WLB. Link to Lenon

as starter? Thanks in advance.

strange...Ourlads has Thomas in at WLB. I don'tknow if either source is more credible than the

other...interesting that the Silverstein quote doesn't

mention which LB spot.

I can't imagine Thomas, Calmus, Fujita making any impact for their new teams in the coming weeks. With the season days away even a backup such as Lenon has a big advantage over Thomas in that he knows the plays.I would guess that if Thomas were able to prove that he was a starter, it would be at MLB and they would do the long anticipated move of Barnett to the WLB spot.

Tom

Tom, I was thinking the same thing. I think eventually Thomas could take over MLB and the Pack would finally move Barnett to WLB, my question to you is will this hurt Barnetts value or do you think it might increase his sack potential?

Packers GM said Lenon will be starting but didn't say where..
Nick Barnett and Na’il Diggs are the Packers’ top two linebackers. With Ray Thompson gone, the other starting job could fall to Paris Lenon, former Ram Robert Thomas or even, in time, rookie Roy Manning.

“I would anticipate Paris Lenon probably starting,” Ted Thompson said, referring to the opener in Detroit. “I think he’s had a fine camp.”
