Roddy White (1 Viewer)

The Falcons need to throw the ball to someone and White, Crumpler, and Jenkins have all started to come on. White has 15 recs for 237 and a td so far this year. Are you believer? Are his best weeks behind him?

Top 25 this week or from here on out? Has he leapfrogged Evans, Brown, etc. for this year in your eyes?
Top 25 from here on out. They will be behind a lot and throwing a ton regardless of QB and he is emerging as a reliable WR and playmaker. I do have Evans ahead of him and I assume you mean Reggie when you say Brown, who I have White ahead of by quite a bit.

Leapfrogged Evans for sure (being that I just cut Evans for White). Hard to get a solid read on the Falcons' passing game just yet, but I can see White being a low WR2/high WR3 in a 12-team league. One thing I do know -- Joe Horn is done and no threat to be Atlanta's top fantasy WR. Thanks for the seven years in New Orleans ... we certainly got your best.

Could he? Sure. Any player could.

But will he? I'm not so sure. He has some skills, obviously, or the Falcons would have never drafted him (and drafted him so high). I personally still think Jenkins is the more talented receiver though. Will Jenkins step up and do better this year than White? Eh, that I'm not so sure about either.

Yes, the Falcons have to pass to SOMEONE, and I think they will do a bit better this year than in years past with Vick at the helm. The QBs they have are definitely more pass-oriented, which only helps them.

Overall I think White and Jenkins will do ok, but Top 25 talk is crazy...

I'd hold off on consistent production predictions from White. But his emergence dates back to the end of last year when in his final 3 games, he tallied 206 yards on 8 receptions.

He's a good guy to have ready though.

Huh, didn't think anyone would be sold on this guy that fast. He has shown consistent progression this season through week 3 though. Are people as sold on him as they are on Bowe?

Count me among the believers. WE are too fast to give up on high draft pick recievers sometimes. I love targetting 2nd/3rd year guys in the late rounds of redraft leagues...there's ALWAYS a few gems emerging from high pick guys who didn't do a lot in there first season or two.

Roddy White was one of my main targets this year for that reason. A WR3 at worst, maybe a solid WR2 by years end, for a WR4/5 pricetag...hard to beat that!

I really liked what I had seen of White in his rookie season when he showed game-breaking ability, surprised that his play dropped off last season as he had a number of poor games and consequently his confident suffered, it happens. Though he is in an limited offence he is a talented playmaking WR who given the chance could establish himself as a solid 3rd with upside on your fantasy squad.

I do. I also love picking up the 3rd year receivers who are big candidates to break out. My wide receivers are Lee Evans (who I am still convinced with explode this year), Plaxico Burress (glad I grabbed him), Braylon Edwards (3rd year, breaking out), Mark Clayton (3rd year, could break out when healthy), Roddy White (3rd year, breaking out), and Randle El (for the hell of it). So, I grabbed three 3rd year players, two of which have already shown to be breaking out with big seasons, and a third in Clayton who had a very good season last year, and is almost certain to continue his progression when he is 100% healthy.

I think saying that top 25 talk is crazy, is way crazier than the top 25 talk itself

Kind of amusing to see everyone's opinion of this guy completely swayed by the fact that one DB in a game last week made a HORRIBLE attempt at a tackle after Roddy made a decent catch downfield and Roddy simply ran 50 yards to the end zone after the failed tackle.

I'm not a big fan of "yeah but take away that one play" but when the one play is more a factor of a defenders lack of competence than of a player's talent, I reserve judgment.

Roddy might still have a good NFL career, but in all likelihood Week 3 was the highlight of his 2007 season.

Take away that one play, and Roddy still leads all falcons receivers in receptions each of the first three weeks.

If you look at any deep touchdown from any receiver you could say that. For all we know, Roddy would have caught 3 more passes on that drive and scored anyways. He is clearly the go to guy, and if Roddy is heads up enough to make that great play, then that is good on him. As I said, someone could always say..."That was just blown coverage, that doesn't mean that he is good".... "That was just a bad tackling attempt, that doesn't reflect on Roddy White".... "That was luck... he caught that ball off of a tip" ect..... The point is that Roddy White is the #1 option on a team that is going to be airing the ball out a lot. He has shown obvious talent, and a steady improvement on his numbers, and play. It was very well known that coming out of college Roddy White was a very talented receiver, and he is showing it right now.I think that it is much more amusing to see someone downplay a 69 yard TD reception because of a "failed tackle" is the reason why. How about a broken tackle? How about the fact that Roddy didn't go fetal position as soon as he felt hands on him while making the reception like 90% of the other WRs out there? Can't he get credit for making the catch, turning his body into position, shrugging off the tackle attempt, and darting to the end zone?

Roddy White 07 = Colston 06
I wish but my expectations are tempered. He's starting as my flex so I have a bit of confidence in him. He is great depth to have at WR and may be traid bait for future. Obviously, if you drafted Roddy or picked him up on WW you did so for depth at your position and not for starting purposes (unless of course your WRs suck or have injuries). In my case I want to use Roddy and C. Benson in a trade package for a better RB. I need him to perform so that more believers hop on board the Roddy train. It's just plain weird that I have some hope/expectations of any Atl. WR.

I am trying to determine whether he is worth rostering over Reggie Brown. Brown is in a better offense, on a better team, with a better qb, and has had some success last year with 900 receiving yards and 8 td's. He has started well, but could come around. White is a talented player, former #1 pick, on a bad team with a mediocre qb.
