Roddy White? (1 Viewer)

Guy was the model of consistency at receiver. Over 1100 yards for four straight years, and double digit TDs for the past 2.

This year, he's on pace of 994 yards and 5 TDs. What gives? Is Matt Ryan just dragging his value down? Do you think White turns it around?

I think Mike Smith saw in the playoffs last season that he needs his passing game to mature past "throw to Roddy" to win anything. Especially with an aging back and the Packers being so young. He needs to be able to hang in a game with an effective passing team like Green Bay or New England. The next step in that evolution is forcing Ryan to hit other players. Unfortunately for Roddy, that is going to cost him stats. Mike isn't looking to win now, he's looking to compete for many years to come. He realizes there are going to be growing pains involved. That is what you are seeing. It isn't going to change. Smith doesn't strike me as a guy who will change his plans once he starts to hit some rough patches.

I don't know....from my perspective, I am thinking that Ryan really isn't that good. He is a a game manager type guy who really doesn't have the intangible to be elite in the NFL. I look at him the same way I see Flacco, Cutler, etc. He will never win anything, especially now that their division is pretty much the toughest in all of football. If I were Smith, I would definetly be in win now mode, because next year they will not only be staring up at the Saints and Bucs, but the Panthers will be threatening for a playoff spot as well.

There were 2 tosses to Roddy that could've gone for 50-60 yards each and 2 TD's, but both were pass interference on the Panthers DB's and he couldn't pad his stats. I think his hamstring injury is slowing him down a bit though.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for Roddy. No Julio Jones on the field and he still can't produce anything..

Probably the worst un-seriously-injured first round pick in history. Except maybe Randy Moss last year.

The dude is not a buy-low, he is done.

He's dropping passes left and right (he SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT one of those passes in the endzone); Ryan has regressed (partially due to the O line, as it appears to me); and maybe he's just starting to get a bit older? doesn't look like he gets the same separation in single coverage he used to get.

Ryan is so completely overrated, all this crap about "matty ice" made me sick when i heard it. He couldnt make water splash if he threw the ball in a pool of water.
