Rogers or Williams as Lions #2 WR? (1 Viewer)

When all is said and done, Charles Rogers is going to go down as the biggest WR bust. EVER.
I sure hope not. But if Rogers doesn't show up this year, he could be well on his way to Ryan Leaf land. It's sad really. There have been a large number of 1st round WR busts, but I can't remember any that were as highly regarded as Rogers in college. The guy was all-world. He was truly a "can't miss" prospect that looked like a perfect fit for a young Lions team. I sincerely hope he finds a way to make an impact this year.I can still remember the discussions on who was the better WR pick for the 2003 draft: Rogers or Andre Johnson. In hindsight, neither one of these guys deserved to go top 5. In fact, the first five WR selected that year haven't really done squat (Rogers, AJ, Bryant Johson, Taylor Jacobs, Bethel Johnson). Thank God that Anquan Boldin didn't slip past the second round.
I disagree. I think Andre Johnson has suffered from a severe case of "Good WR/Bad Team". He almost got 1,000 yards as a rookie, which is incredible (Boldin, Moss, and Clayton are the only rookies I can think of that have done it in the past decade or two). He got 1142/6 as a sophomore, which are very solid numbers. Then he bombed last year. Like I said, good WR, bad team. He had more receiving yards as a rookie than Chris Chambers had any year until last year (his fifth), and he had more receiving yards as a sophomore than Chambers has ever had at any point in his career, and yet Chambers is somehow the next big thing. (note: I think Chambers is drastically overrated, I'm just providing some perspective).

I thought David "Mr. Bomb Diggety" Terrell, had that label all locked up.
David Terrell: #8 overall.Charles Rogers: #2 overall.

David Terrell's numbers as a rooke: 34/415/4

Charles Roger's career numbers (3 years): 36/440/4

Any questions? :)
Funny, I thought that title was reserved for Braylon Edwards. :bye:

Nothing new here...I have Bradford on every one of my FBG leagues including the staff v. messageboard where I was able to add him as my #8 WR in round 15.
weakHe's always been a "just deep" WR. He's excellent at it but very one dimensional.I'd bet he's not so unlike Kevin Johnson in DET last year
Kevin Johnson was not a speed guy... he was a possesion WR and was more than one-dimensional when healthy.
and yet what happenned to him as the season wore on

Charles Rogers career numbers: 36/440/4Braylon Edward's numbers in TEN GAMES AS A ROOKIE: 32/512/3As far as I'm concerned, Braylon Edwards could get run over by Kellen Winslow on a motorcycle and die tomorrow, and Charles Rogers would still be the bigger bust. Edwards actually looked pretty good towards the end of his rookie season, before he got hurt. Which is saying something when you remember that he played in Cleveland and was catching passes from Trent Dilfer and Charlie McFrie.

Rogers will receive a 1 year suspension by mid-season for violating the League substance abuse policy yet again. I believe he is just one dirty drop away from the 1 year vacation. He won't be able to put down the chronic for an entire season.
