Oakland Raiders LB Rolando McClain (head) played with a concussion in the team's Week 2 game. He stayed on the field, never missing a snap. The concussion was only diagnosed after the game. "It was something we thought might have been the case after the game," head coach Dennis Allen said. "But it didn't seem like it was a major one ... It's kind of a precautionary deal that we're going through the whole process to make sure he's fine."

Yeah, we are entering into a new period in the NFL. Outside of the last handful of years this would have been considered normal, since he only "had his bell rung." hell, they may not have even done a test after the game.

My guess since the NFL is trying cover against lawsuits, there will some sort of penalty. Especially, even now (unless I am misreading) Allen does not seem to think it a big deal.

So now we are supposed to enforce concussion tests after every time a guy has his bell rung? You'd need 100 man rosters to cover for all the guys headed to the locker rooms for tests. Come on. This is a brutal game (that's why we love it). Why don't we go to 2 hand touch?

Yes, they are supposed to do concussions tests after every time a guy has his bell rung. It's usually pretty obvious when a guy gets hit hard enough in the head to be slow getting up or is dazed. It happens at most like once or twice a game. I don't think it's that big of a deal to be cautious and test everyone.
