The past few weeks Mr. Harper's production seems to have been a bit low. Would anyone have insight as to why? Just curious as I'm heading into the playoffs and want to know if this is cause for concern over the next few weeks. Next week they play the Titans.
the saints took advantage of both NY and Detroit. they got up early and forced both teams to pass more. both opposing QBs were slinging it more than usual. harper is not very good in coverage, i think.
i would expect TN, ATL and Carolina to be good plays for Harper.
Not being good in coverage can work well IDP wise. Harper is often covering TE's and getting tackle/PD opportunities associated with that. I think he's pretty much a must start every week unless there is the worst of matchups.
I will say that a consistent 4-6 tackles a week out of a DB is not out of the ordinary terrible, but he had a hot start to the year and over the last couple of years at least, I think we have come to expect more out of our elite DB's, especially safeties. It's hard to predict this stuff, but it seems like there aren't many guys you can actually rely on throughout the year, if any. After my draft I had Harper/Chung/Chancellor (obviously Chung was injured the whole second half) and they were all basically irrelevant come championship week.
