Aug 31 There is a chance Brown could be replaced by Jesse Chatman as the Dolphins' featured running back according to the Miami Herald.

Advice: Coach Cam Cameron appears to feel that Brown hasn't really distinguished himself over Chatman, but both should see a good number of carries, especially to start the season.

Is this a new development? Any Dolphin fans want to weight in?I thought Brown was the unquestioned starter for 07.

Diehard Dolphins fan here and the Miami Herald is not fishing at all. Chatman is going to get his share of carries and don't be surprised if he starts at some point this season wether its week 1 or not..........

Chatman had one long run, a 11 yard TD on a gimmick play...and other than that, he looks like the same slow Chatman who hasn't played in a couple of years.

EDITED....he had a long run (74 yards), PLUS the 11 yard TD on the gimmick play.

Fixed in original post to say a long run PLUS the 11 yard TD on the gimmick play. The long run was the 74 yarder.

Chatman is a career backup who ate himself out of the NFL and when was his last regular season carry?Ronnie Brown played 12.5 games and averaged over 100 yards per game in an offense literally without a QB and a horrible OC.

I think that just the fact that an announcement has to be made is very bad news for Brown owners. Even if he's named the starter, it's clear he'll have a short leash. Could be RBBC or could be that he's one bad game from losing his job.

If he was the undisputed starter, they wouldn't need to make an announcement.

I would not make that assumption. Cam has handled things in an extremely unorthodox fashion thus far. He is a variable that nobody yet fully understands. You cannot at this point assume the same things from Cam's actions as you can from other coaches. He seems to be quite unique in the way he handles his job.I am a die hard Fins fan, and I see it as extraordinarily unlikely that RB does not get 70% or more of the carries this year (assuming health). If Ricky Williams were on the roster, I may have a different opinion, but this is Jesse Chatman we are talking about. A month ago you could have gotten 10-1 odds that he would even make the roster.
