Rookie IDP question. (1 Viewer)

I've been reading EOTG religiously to help get my cheatsheets together for my first IDP draft. Several players have comments like "could be solid #3 if your league overvalues sacks". Here is my leagues' defensive scoring...

.5 points for assisted tackles

1 point for solo tackles

1 point per pass defended

3 points for sacks

3 points for blocked kicks and punts

3 points for fumbles forced or recovered

4 points for interceptions

5 points for safeties

6 points for tds

Is 3 points per sack fairly standard?

Thanks of your input.

Sacks = 3x tackles is usually considered neutral. That doesn't hold in every system though -- the points awarded for FF/FR or PD can affect the relative production of players as well.Your system looks balanced across most positions but low on points relative to the offensive side of the ball overall. If you have time, it's always worth setting up a sham league on MFL, plugging in your scoring system, then looking at relative values for a few stereotypes of player. You don't have to purchase a league to do this and it should give you a firm foundation to tweak your cheatsheets based on VBD and ADP.

i'd raise PD's to 2 and sacks to 4. the former is to increase the value of cornerbacks in relation to safeties, and the latter is to do the same for defensive lineman in relation to linebackers. everything else is in line with my league and our defensive positions are pretty well balanced.
