Rookie RB- Kevin Smith (dynasty outlook) (1 Viewer)

Whats you guys take on him and what are you doing with him.

Im at the point of offering him up for an older productive rb ------> in a dynasty league

I guess, most are pretty disgusted with alot of there picks at this point....but at this point where do you see Mr.Smith going.

I getting the golden shower for investing in K. Smith and R. Rice.Jere is my take...

Kevin Smith is a slightly above-avg RB that has the potential to be a FF#2 if his situation improves (especially in PPR). He has good vision and above average athletic ability. He cathces well, but will not over-power or burn past defenders. DET sux....but they have enough outside (Cal & Roy) to keep teams honest. If the passing game can experience an uptick (HUGE IF), there is no reason for this organization not to play him to see what they have. Buy real low in REDRAFT and DYNO.

i'd sell for the older productive back. Especially if you got a chance at a title.

Simply put, he dances too much instead of hitting the hole and going forward. If he would do the latter instead of dance, he could be a serviceable RB. I am down on him compared to before the season. He could be ok, but I don't see anything in his game that tells me he is anything special. I see a RB who will get opportunities from time to time and put up decent numbers during that time, but I'm not sure he is good enough to sustain anything over a long period of time.

When you start losing your job to Rudi Johnson, a player the bengals outright released, that is BAD. The Bengals aren't exactly humming at the RB position.

Don't like, never liked.

If you can get a productive RB for him, older or not, I'd do it.

I'm not a big fan of Kevin Smith's attitude during his latest benching (...which ultimately resulted in him starting). He was disrespectful to the coaches in the media on multiple occasions. Sometimes...the right attitude can keep a player in the starting lineup.

I completely agree with this, and in dynasties you should consider the future of the team. The new regime, and there will be one, owes Kevin Smith nothing and I would not be at all surprised if they bring in a different RB next year. The only reason Kevin Smith had any potential value was because of his situation, and even that sucks now. Sell if you can find a buyer.

Heading into the season I felt his value was going to be highest just before the season started because he would be starting right out of the gate. I'm not sure how good he can be but the fact is he is on a bad team so will produce only mediocre numbers at this time. If you need some current help at RB and can get a good veteran for him I would strongly consider it. If the veteran is only going to be mediocre as well then I would just sit with Smith and hope that team improves. Rudi is not the answer there so I don't think Smith's perceived value will go down much for the rest of this season.
