Rudi Johnson from here on out? (1 Viewer)

What do you think?

How much has Watson's "emergence" affected Rudi's playing time, when he's healthy?

After the coming game against the Ravens, you have to love Rudi's schedule, especially during the playoffs.

Is he a sneaky buy-dirt-cheap candidate now?

I own him in an auction dynasty where keepers are 20% of their previous years pts. I hope he doesn't do much the rest of the way and that they trade him somewhere like GB where he can start fresh. I'll get to keep him cheap.

he won't be traded... not with all the FA RBs this yr and no other team will want to pick up that contract.

Cinny will have to either restructure his current deal or just plain out cut him.

so you league awards you when your player under-performs for the year and Nails you if they have a great year.... isn't suppose to be the oppisite way?

As a Rudi owner I can say...not a whole lot, even with the favorable schedule. I just can't get too excited about his prospects.

You don't start him until you see that he gets the majority of the carries and playing time.
He got the majority of the carries last week. Problem is, he was awful. Watson stunk too for what it's worth. I saw quotes from Lewis absolving Rudi and Watson for the poor running, throwing the blame directly on the line, the WRs and even Palmer for checking out of running plays. It'll be interesting to see how the carries are divided this week. I doubt it matters much given how the Bengals aren't likely to run much on the Ravens. You'd have to have your backs against the wall at RB to even consider starting Rudi in my opinion and Watson should only be viewed as a lower-end RB3 in PPR leagues. One thing the Ravens still do well is suffocate the running game.

I guess you could put it that way. The way I see it that you don't want a team to keep their studs since they will be overpowered. We have a $75 cap out the total $200. You can't keep more than $75 worth of players. A few years ago, I kept Javon Walker for $1 since he got hurt the year before really early.

Watson has more receiving yards in the past 4 games (157 yards) than Rudi's career high for a season (146). Watson has 18 catches in that span and has gone over 100 total yards in 3 of those games. I'm a nervous Rudi owner, but from a football perspective I don't know why they wouldn't just stick with Watson. He seems to have the fresh legs and is a much better pass catcher than Rudi. As often as the Bengals are playing from behind, they'll need to ride a rb that can catch the ball. Rudi's killin' me - and there appears to be no end in sight!

Good news/bad news for Rudi. The good news is he isn't on the injury report this week. The bad news is he gets to face the Ravens. From RotoWorld:

Rudi Johnson is no longer on the Bengals' injury report.

This doesn't mean he's 100 percent, but he's getting close. Still, Rudi was completely ineffective against the Bills in Week 9. The road only gets tougher for the Bengals' ground game this week, with a matchup at Baltimore.

I like his matchup this week and the fact that he got 22 carries last week tells me he's close to 100%. I think that Rudi can be a nice RB2 down the stretch assuming he's healthy. Here's his upcoming schedule:

11 - ARI

12 - TEN :hifive:

13 - @ PIT :lmao:

14 - STL

15 - @ SF :thanks:

16 - CLE :X

That's a nice playoff schedule. He could be one of those players that wins a championship for you. I'm just hoping that my 4-6 team can get there.

In a standard league. Hes a week by week player.

In a PPR league, hes a "start if you have to player." Watson is clearly going to steal touches (including passing situations).

I just traded Cedric Benson (yuck) for Rudi Johnson.

If Rudi's healthy, career stats indicate that he will have a great 2nd half of the season.

Check this- Johnsons's career stats games 1-8 and 9-16.

Situation G Rush Yds Y/G TD

Games 1-8 35 646 2474 66.9 15

Games 9-16 36 718 3013 81.4 30

15 more yards per game and twice as many TD's.

Buy low now.

Good find, I'm hoping you are right, I have weathered the storm and would love nothing more than to ride Rudi to the playoffs!

Arizona basically shut down Parker and last week the Lions had negative yardage.

Isnt that pretty much because of the fact that in his breakout season (when Dillon got hurt) he played almost entirely the second half of the year only? 697 yards and 6 TD's...vs 226 yds 2 TD's in first 8 that year?Im looking at his game logs and it seems only in 2005 did he have any significant variance with 10 of 12 rushing TD's in the second half. I think it's just a statistical anomaly and nothing to get excited about personally. Glass half empty... :banned:

Interesting point. I have owned Johnson in various leagues over the years and I've also noticed that he is a better 2nd half player. On other other hand, what if the missed games disrupts this pattern, resulting in another subpar 4 games before he turns it around?
