Rules Question (1 Viewer)

If the QB lines up under center with a back directly behind him can the center snap it like a shotgun snap through the QB's legs directly to the RB ?

Granted it would be dangerous, but is that a legal snap ?

Maybe the QB can just have his legs extend like in a cartoon to make sure the ball goes through his legs cleanly.

The only rule I believe is that the player calling the cadence must be the one receiving the snap. It doesn't matter who is lined up directly under center.

I don't think that's true. On a punt, the up back calls the cadence.

Is this true? I've seen the Patriots direct snap to Faulk in shotgun, when he's next to the QB. I'm not 100% certain, but I think Brady was barking the signals at the time.Or is this only true when the QB is under center, not in shotgun?

I think I was mistaken. Sorry for the confusion.
