Hope it's not yet another fugly uniform change ala the Pats (I like the old school helmets with the Center on them better) and the Broncos (the kicking Bronco was also better).
EVERYTHING was better
the way it used to be! Owners are swayed to make uniform changes for the merchandising potential. Change is
bad. Tradition is
good. I'm still trying to get over the fact that the Rams changed their uniforms after their championship season in '99. They went from the
sharpest,
classiest,
coolest blue/gold uniforms ever, to this
total, complete "Gulden's mustard" ATROCITY!
The Bills, Pats, Titans (Oilers), Broncos, Falcons, Buccaneers, Niners and Seahawks -ALL- made changes for the worse. I give the Jets a lot of credit for realizing that they
had great uniforms back in the day, and they went back to them. Same goes for the Giants, to a lesser extent. I was never crazy about any of their uniforms, frankly. But the
"ny" logo is better than the
"GIANTS" logo.
I even liked the old school Eagles jerseys... the
see-thru mesh ones. Guess I'm just a sucker for keeping things the way they were when I was growing up. I notice all the little things, too. For instance, the dual stripes on the shoulders of the
Colts jerseys used to extend
all the way under the armpits. Would it kill them to keep it that way?

I finally found a picture of one of my favorite jerseys ever. If anyone knows where I can buy a jersey like
this old Eagles one, I will give you my first born! I have searched everywhere for it for years, but I have no idea what year they wore those duds.... maybe a hardcore Philly fan can help me out. My best guess would be circa 1973 or so. I dig the multiple stripes on the sleeves! I used to love their
white helmets with the green wing.
I could talk about this stuff for days, as you probably noticed. I'll post pics of my helmet collection when I get a chance this weekend. The Raiders are also talking about changing their logo. It should represent the current spirit and moral of the team, IMO. To that end,
here is my suggestion.
