Good day eh! Hello from above the 49th Parrallel. Just wanted to know if and of ya have heard that Jeff Garcia may just be heading back up to Canada to play in the league where he got his big break. Do you think his NFL options have dried up or is he still a wanted commodity down south? Personally with the bigger field up here I think he can still make an impact in the CFL but in regards to the NFL he is done.Looking forward to hearing your comments....

I forgot to mention that his rumoured destination is with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In his first stint in Canada he played with the Calgary Stampeders but now the current GM in Sask is Stampeders former Asst GM Roy Shivers whom Jeff had a great relationship with. Should be great to see....

Man's got a noodle-arm.
He definately doesn't have the arm that he used to but I think he can still do big things up north with the bigger field. The one thing that does concern me is the injury he suffered last season. At his age I am not sure if he could get back to 100%

Gotta love the Canucks, their polite and enthusiastic passion for their bizarre variant of football, and their smaller, slower and weaker players.

:D Bizarre to you maybe but great to me. In my opinion the second greatest Prof football league in the world and a great place for many americans to find employment should their NFL dreams not be realized

If anybody is interested, here is some discussion about Garcia from north of the border. http://www.cflzone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=752 And also to you all....heads up to a young kid by the name of Casey Printers who was the CFL mvp in '04. He recently signed with the Lions.
Chiefs or Lions?
Chiefs. Link from our FBGs Blogger from January 11: http://www.canada.com/topics/sports/footba...526703d&k=47012Good to see "eh" showing up in the boards every now and then. Now if we could only get a "take off, you hoser" Clickable Smiley........... :P

I like your idea of a criminal investigations forum. I would have never thought of that yet "right under my nose" because it's part of today's sportsworld. With all the suggestions here for a new forum I can't recall that one being brought up.While I may not agree or appreciate some of the sentiments, I enjoy reading what foreigners think of Americans. It's always interesting.

way to welcome the new guy, blogger guy
The "take off" comment wasn't directed at Migs in any way, shape or form....just thought it would be a funny smiley from one of my favorite movie references back in the day (Strange Brew).

As a former Saskatchewan resident and current 'Rider fan, I would love to see if Garcia could make a go of it in the CFL again. He obviously can't cut it in the NFL anymore, but his veteran leadership and his eroding but still formidable skill at the QB position would make him one of the best QBs up here on the real frozen tundra. I predict that if this happens Garcia will lead the Roughriders to the Grey Cup. I would love to see that happen.

I have to say I don't understand why move players don't extend their careers in the CFL. I would think a guy like Drew Bledsoe could go up there once he can't cut it as a NFL starter and play several more years while filling stands.

My guess is probably ego, a la "if I'm not playing in 'The Show', then I'll just hang up the cleats and ride off into the sunset." I imagine if the money was great enough, more players would do it! However, I would guess that ego of feeling as though they are playing in a "lesser" league has to keep a lot of those folks away. I personally enjoy watching a little Canadian football from time to time, but it's hard to envision lots of players finishing off their careers north of the border....

Yeah I think its a good forum as well. Not sure if you guys heard down there or not but one of my teams Linebackers (Trevis Smith) was charged with Agrivated Sexual Assault for having unprotected sex with women while knowing he was HIV positve. It was a big scandal up here last season and what gave us the idea for the forum. And as far as what some Canadians think of Americans...well don't worry cause there are loopy people in every bunch....most Canadians I know love America as do I  That said, you should sign up on our board as its only 2 months old...we'd love to have some American perspectives as 70% of each teams roster are American born players.

This year's free agent quarterback crop in the NFL is pretty weak. I wouldn't be surprised to see Garcia sign with another NFL team as a backup or #3. He could make $500K or more holding a clipboard in the NFL, which is considerably more than he'd make starting in Canada.

Nice to see another Rider fan on the board. I am sure you've experience d the Taylor Field phenominon. IMO the best atmoshere in the CFL. Too bad our team always sucks..LOL. And yeah I agree that Garcia would be a huge improvement over what we got (Marcus Crandell and Nealon Greene). I think if Garcia returns that he would immediately be in the top 3 of QB's in the league (along with Dave Dickenson, Jason Maas, and Ricky Ray).Heres hoping

Not necessarily as most starting QB's in the league average about that salary. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Garcia actally wanted to play and in order for that to happen he might have to return to Canada.

Not far enough away from Michigan for me!

A few things......oh and btw I am Canadian too.

The CFL sucks.

Casey Printers=3rd string NFL talent.
Just curious why you had to contribute to this thread if all you got to say is useless crap? I guess you have a problem with another league that provides excitement and passion for Canadians (and yes Americans). Why I have no idea but thanks for your insights
