Ryan Grant Done for the Year (1 Viewer)

Who? Brandon Jackson? I'm not trying to push BJ at all, in fact I don't see how he can flourish for the next 15 weeks...10-12 carries per game, some receptions, keep the defense honest, but to imagine him closing out games like Grant was asked to do last year I don't see it.
10-12 carries per game?Umm...I think you are nuts if you believe this.
15 games left...how many carries do you see for Jackson for the season? I think 175-200 is reasonable. You in the 250+ camp?
Barring an injury or a trade...Id say 15 per game is a minimum right now.So yes, I think 225-250 carries is far more likely than 200 or less carries.
Has gone from 18 to 11 to 7.

Jackson really is NOT a very talented RB. After three years of seeing him, it shocks me that anyone has expectations for him to be getting a lot of carries... :goodposting:

Wow...hindsight is 20/20.

I was not big on his talent, just the opportunity...and he has done nothing with it...the line has not helped him either.

PRetty much just sucks at this point.

Though, may have a chance to have a good game this week.

Hopefully that does not keep Green Bay from trying to shore this position up some.

Nah. Plenty of folks - especially those of us who follow the Packers - had Jackson correctly pegged as a dog. He's been a dog his entire career. I picked him up mainly because I was hoping the situation would offset his glaring lack of talent. There's still some slim hope that could occur if the Packers don't trade for a RB but there's no getting around the fact that Jackson stinks. The fact he's sharing carries equally with a fullback right now who does nothing more than get the fans excited speaks volumes about how awful he is. Jackson is looking like this year's biggest Waiver Wire bust. Gets a chance to be the starting RB on a Top 5 offense and is a bum.

Again, it was the situation that was discussed. Not sure what was up with him. 2008 people were claiming he would take over for GRant with the way he was running.Last year he sucked again. This year he is again sucking.Looks good in those receptions though and in open space...but sucks picking holes, making a strong plant/cut and going upfield.

He looks like Brandon Jackson. Solid receiver. Horrific runner. I've always been stunned at the people (especially Packers fans) who think he's in the same galaxy as Grant in terms of ability. He can't keep a fullback off the field in terms of rushing attempts. If that doesn't tell folks all they need to know about how awful he is, I'm not sure what else will.

What are the chances the Packers get someone besides Jackson to be the #1RB?
Right away?Zero. The coaches really like Jackson and I think he will be given the opportunity to be the starter.Strong chance they bring someone in to spell him who could take the job if he falters.
I don't see it happening either. They will sign someone that stands little chance of threatening Jackson to add depth, and just Hope Jackson can at least stay helathy until James Starks is healthy. They are likely to draft a RB in 2011 though.
I think we can stop the Starks hype.We don't know when he will really be healthy...we have no clue if he can pass block...we have no clue what he will look like on an NFL field with NFL players. The guy has been hurt almost the whole time in GB...I don't think the Packers are setting their hopes on Starks sparking them in a few weeks.
He looked good on an NFL field with NFL players.
