Ryan Torain Value (1 Viewer)

I don't think you can overlook the fact that Torain seems to be a favorite of Shanahan, and is coming off a huge week. When he has played, the guy has given owners solid RB2 and borderline RB1 numbers. For a waiver wire pickup, you can't ask for anything more. I think he will be more valuable to fantasy owners this year than Ridley will be. Not that he is a better runner, but his situation is much better.
:goodposting: Very happy to wake up this morning and see my pickup of Torain happen in a league where I have Hightower as my #2. I know the situation could be muddy, but Torain was very good last year, much better than Hightower has been so far. If Torain is healthy, he will be valuable. Seems pretty clear from Shanny's remarks and the their actual play that Torain is the better back when healthy.

Yeah, but all it will take is one little opening (fumble by Torain, injury by Torain, etc.) and then Torain isn't the favorite anymore and it's back to the Hightower show.Torain could be very nice if you know he's starting and getting most of the snaps, but the situation is really just too risky to spend much on it.

i have torain and he will destroy the eagles and panthers when the skins return in week 6 - 7

i was debating on going ridley or not but noone in my league has picked him up   :excited:

Torain or Ridley as the #1 waiver pick in redraft?
Is anyone else on this forum getting tired of AC questions in this forum?
About as tired as "I just got an offer of Joe Addai for him straight up. Declined."
Not remotely close and you know this.
They're the same. Comparing two players' values going forward. Just change the wording, or phrasing. Say, "I just got an offer of Stevan Ridley for him straight up. Declined."
No. You are asking AC questions, asking for help. Where do you see me asking for help? Nowhere.
What you're doing is far worse than what you're attempting to police. Give it up and let the mods do their job.
Watch out, chet, this guy might put you in his signature.

So, with the addition of Torain, I'm carry all three Washington RBs. Is it somewhat safe to drop Helu?

It seems that he would have seen more work if he was next in line after Hightower, right? Is he more of a change of pace back with Hightower or Torain as the main runners?

What I'm I saying? This is Shanahan. Who knows...

I dropped Helu for Torain, so I'm the same as you. I might try to carry all three if there's room, but look at Helu's fantasy point total. Something tells me you can use the ww as an extended bench in this situation.

Just dealt Torain for Reggie Wayne straight up in a 16 tm league that starts 4 WR. I do like Torain in the short term, but hurting at wideout and combined with the inherant risk that comes along with Torain I felt good about it.

Torain is the hot hand and Shanny loves to ride the hot hand. Start him until the wheels fall off. He's playing at a higher level than THT and Helu right now. Dude was jumping off the screen this weekend with his runs. Think poor man's Fred Jackson or early career Ryan Grant. He's that type of runner and looks very comfortable running behind Shanny's ZBS.

This is not a one game phenomenon. This predates to last year and even in Denver. This guy's only knock is that his violent running style lends to injury. But until that happens his PPG upside looks promising.

If you try to earn pts with Shanny's back field you should also consider getting a stable income at playing Russian roulette. Just a friendly reminder that Peyton Hillis was on Shanny's team in Denver few years back, and had huge games and a week later bam! came Selvin Young starting the whole game, PH laying goose eggs. It's funny that Torain will tell you the same because he was also on the team as a rookie.

no kidding, the guy runs with power like Blount, Jacobs and a couple of RBs that had big seasons for Shanahan

That season, Michael Bennett, Torain, and Hillis all got shots at being the primary running back. And those shots ended because of season ending injuries...not Shanahanigans.

hillis had a season ending neck? injury and torain tore his acl. i suppose you could blame shannahan for it somehow.

Moved Torain in another one of my leagues. 14 teams, 26 man roster keeper league, packaged Torain with Antonio Brown and Laurent Robinson and I got back Cam Newton Victor Cruz, Preston Parker and $5 FAAB. Feel like I've capitalized and gotten some good value in both these deals, hope it helps you all gauge Torain's value somewhat.

Not sure who I would compare him to after that performance, but he was bouncing off so many defenders, he didn't look like Jackson or Grant, those guys are more about hitting holes...it was taking 3-4 guys guys to bring him down, even though some of those runs were for a loss, he just would not go down...dude looked like he was gonna break every tackle out there, granted it was the Rams defense, but he looked like he wanted to steamroll the whole defense whenever he got the ball. Visions of Earl Campbell were popping up in my head...lol.

i dont like the first one at all. wayne's upside is majorly capped, with painter/collins. torain has been a legit rb1 when given the lead role.do like the 2nd, cam is sick.

I picked up Torain/Ridley and dropped R. Bush/P. Thomas off our WW :banned: ; God I love my league . My only regret is Thomas; I think he will be strong sometime this year, though I thought that all last year too.

Moved Torrain/McGahee for Bowe. My only weak spot had been #3 WR so I hopefully upgraded here for a couple of bench players...

In the fuzzy corner of my mind it seems that one main reason Shanny drove us nuts in Denver was that he had very little patience for fumbling.

Is this correct?

Obviously, if guys are banged up then it's harder to criticize the coach for rotation and it seems that Denver and Washington have really been plagued by injuries for the past 5-8 years.

I still think Shan plays too many games, but is the above true?

If so, is Torain really much of a risk unless he gets hurt?

Offered Torain for Gronkowski.
This does nothing to help determine Torains value. I could pop in here and say was offered Aaron Rodgers for Torain or offered Bruce Gradkowski for Torain. If you said "Trade went down" then that helps.

12 team dynasty, .5 PPR for WR and TE, start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX.

I gave: Dustin Keller, Jacoby Ford

I got: Ryan Torain, Emmanuel Sanders

Keller and Ford were likely to never contribute for my team, so I took a chance on the upside of Torain, considering I only had 3 viable RB's on my roster.

10 team PPR redraft

traded Torain and Gronkowski

for

Felix Jones and Jacoby Ford

I already own J.Finley. Welker/Dez/Julio Jones/Manningham at WR, McCoy/Foster-Tate/jStewart/Jacobs/Ridley at RB. I like Felix as my RB3 or flex, and we cannot use TE as a flex. Ford will be trade bait if he has a breakout week.

My thoughts as well.Injury to Charles and bye weeks have me in a RB bind, especially with Ingram not performing. After thought, I dropped Torain to pick up LT for this weekend ina PPR format.

For those looking to trade him, id wait until after his upcoming stretch of [games]. There are some BAD run defenses in there.
:goodposting:Fresh off the bye the Torain train is gonna get rev'd up next week. The bandwagon is brewing but subdued by the bye this week. I love Directv NFL shortcuts. Such a leg up for scouting situations like this beyond just the highlights and numbers. Shanny saw the same thing we did last week boys. A MONSTER. As long as he's healthy (and not fumbling - he did once last week), Shanny will give Torain the ball from here forward. THT and Helu are playing decently, but Torain was beasting last week. And that's been his M.O. whenever he's been healthy in Shanny's ZBS. Torain Train!!! Choo choo! Leaving soon.
