Ryan Williams playing against Oakland (1 Viewer)

BigTex

Don't mess with Texas
Cardinals RB Ryan Williams (knee) is expected to play against the Raiders on Friday.Williams sat out Arizona's first two exhibition contests. The Cardinals have yet to decide if Beanie Wells will suit up. The game action will be Williams' first since he tore his right patellar tendon last preseason. We're anxious to see how much of Williams' explosion was sapped by his injury.
Can't wait to finally see him play, I can't imagine he'll get a heavy load but I still want to see him in action.

Looking forward to see him play. All camp reports have been glowing. He was healthy enough to play the first two preseason games but was held out as a precaution.

Yep. Hopefully he still has his burst. He was really looking good in camp last year too.

Sure would be nice to have some explosiveness back there.

That I-line is soooooo bad. Is it really going to matter.
Huh? It's more or less the same O line Beanie Wells ran for 10 TDs and a 1000+ yards behind.I suppose that you can argue that Wells/Williams will steal enough from each other that neither is a viable fantasy option, but you can't argue credibly IMO that Williams can't have value because of the O line.

I get the feeling that AZ is going to be poor man's version of carolina. if both are healthy i don't know if either will get to 1,000 yards alone.

Yeah but Wells is actually good and he is not coming off of a torn patella which is a potentially career killer injury. My prediction, Williams will be a mediocre change of pace back.

NFL.com's Bucky Brooks was impressed with Ryan Williams' (knee) post-injury explosiveness after watching him in training camp. Brooks noted Williams' "ability to find seams in the middle of the defense and stick his foot in the ground to explode through holes" as well as a "remarkable stop-and-start quickness." The struggles of Cadillac Williams, Mark Clayton and Nate Allen in returning from patellar tendon surgery have had us concerned about Williams, but all reports on his progress have been overwhelmingly positive since the offseason began. I like Beanie too, but I don't think this guy can be ignored.

Greg Childs can be added to the list.
(Rotoworld) According to ESPN 1500 Twin Cities, rookie WR Greg Childs "has always been the in-house favorite" to start opposite Percy Harvin during Jerome Simpson's three-game suspension. Analysis: It's interesting that veteran Michael Jenkins, due $2.5 million while coming off knee surgery, has been swept aside. It's another sign that Jenkins is on the roster bubble. Childs has dropped several balls early on, but he made the play of camp in Thursday's practice. We want to see more consistency before recommending Childs as a late-round flier for September.
Two days later he tears the patella again. I like the guy's talent, but I'm still waiting for anyone to come back to the same level after this surgery.

WIlliams is gonna relegate Beanie to backup status in a hurry I think. STUD.

yeah, that'sgottabe a concern until he puts some time/distance between him and the injury.

Williams looked realllly good, and he will only get better. Considering drafting him over Wells tomorrow. Beanie is just a walking injury and they take their toll.

I think the fact that Beanie has proven he cannot stay healthy in his time in the NFL adds value to Williams even more. Granted, Williams has his own injury concerns, but he looked very good last night and everything from camp sounds like he can be a very good NFL running back.
