Can't believe detox isn't out yet. Probably never will be at this point.

With Kush and I Need a Doctor I thought it was imminent. )
Lol. Those songs are 2 years old now. Would be hilarious if he still includes them on the album.
Doubt they will, can't remember when Dre rushed an album out.

No one would put their total body of work up against Dre.

Try again, troll harder.
Dre is part of the reason hip hop is a dying art form. Commercialized and easily digestible beats and hooks that can be enjoyed by pimply teenagers, middle class african americans and parents alike.

and he's great at that. from a business perspective, he's king.

Dre's best work was DOC's no one can do it better. Which means he peaked in 89. Plus, theres all the rumors about him having ghost producers the last decade. Ill give it to RZA.

Horrible attempt at characterizing what you think is the "middle class black person".

Please work on trolling, come back.

Like Wu Tang isn't one of the most commercially marketed groups in history.

yet they're not in the top 10 highest of highest grossing hip hop artists/groups of all time.

point?

I never said Wu wasn't commercial. They are. But their music isn't.

:lmao:

So despite marketing the #### out of it still not many people want to listen to it?

Dre hasn't been up to anything lately but headphones

If you are pro-Dre that's not helping your argument.
Trying to compare the overall body of work. Responding to the statement: "Dre hasn't been relevant unless you count overpriced headphones"

This move made National and International headlines - trying to remember the last time RZA did that. You know, being "relevant" and all.
Man With the Iron Fist?

Imagine that, RZA actually doing something creative while Dre does House of Pain karaoke with Snoop.

Russell Simmons, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre. These guys built hip-hop empires that have stood the test of time. There's really no one else on that particular level as far as a career goes. You can certainly say that you prefer the sound of RZA to the sound of Dre or vice versa, but there's no debate that Dre's overall body of work dwarfs anything RZA has ever done.

I love me some rza and even went to his Tao of the Wu lecture a few months ago, but come on. Dr. Dre is in his own tier. I can see an argument possibly, but the few of you in here worshipping all that is rza and basically calling dre sellout trash are fools.

Dre has been irrelevant for almost a decade now as has the rest of the NWA crew. Granted back in the day they were sick but lately they have dropped what? Great so you shared a video of him reuniting with Snoop & company, so what? Detox is so overdue that most of his fans gave up years ago....he sold out. His boy M is garbage, Snoop is in the middle of a mid life crisis and the Rasta would rather him never step foot back in Jamaica, Ice Cube....I won't even go there....... If Dre wants to be relevant again he should get back in the studio and stop wasting time with all the cosmetic surgery and marketing of over priced head phones.

Wu Tang Forever and it's not even close. They have and continue to drop fresh albums again and again. For instance Inspectah Deck dropped Czarface earlier this year.....sick beats, guest appearances right and left and produced by legends like DJ Premeir. Yet you never heard it, and even if you did you couldn't appreciate it nor comprehend it.

In the other thread you suggested WU only had one decent album, well that in itself proves your ignorance and Major had every right to call you out.

Some of your fan club is in here supporting you but may I suggest you to stick to your amateurish attempts to become a writer for Harlequin

Oh and Ron........nice pants homie

Pretty much. I'd take RZA for my own preference for their actual music, no question hands down. But Dre has bult an empire and transcends hip-hop in the national consciousness. RZA hasn't and doesn't.

Who is the hottest MC out right now? Thank you.
drake? asap? wayne?

all terrible
Your thoughts on Kendrick Lamar?
terrible.

I honestly cannot even remember who the most recent "MC" is that Ive enjoyed. It has little to do with radio, or whatever... I just need to enjoy it.

I can deal w some action bronson - but the last MC I fell head over heels for was probably MF Doom/Madvillain... and that isn't recent by any stretch

I've heard the DOC argument a lot and thinks it has merit but 20+ years later, Dre's masterpiece is N*ggaz4Life. Listen to that ish again. Makes Straight Outta Compton sound like a demo tape.

Doom is Top 5 Dead or Alive
You dont gotta tell me.

Only knuckleheads who cry tears with Drake would think he doesn't crush a mic amongst the greatest
My Top 5 Dead or Alive (considering entire body of work. Can't take many dudes with 1 or 2 albums)

1. Nas

2. Ice Cube

3. Pharoahe Monch

4. Ghostface Killah

5. MF Doom

Kendrick Lamar is "terrible" but MF Doom is a top 5 rapper. Wow....

Now I know what I'm dealing with.
I went overboard in calling him terrible...

But dont put a 26yr old with 1-2 albums anywhere near the echelon of Doom.

And by "what Im dealing with" I assume you mean someone who LISTENS to hip hop, and not just 103.5 HOT FM

With the except of Cube, those are all talented rappers whose voices I can't stand to listen to.
