S. Greene VS LT in Dynasty (1 Viewer)

The Guy who gave up L.T. Says he is building for the future. He probably is because his team sucks. However the other guy is in second and has guys on bye the next two.

I know its a Dynasty but isn't LT still way more valuable than S. Greene

I think the whole trade is B.S. a starting Stud Rb for a maybe good RB in 1 to 2 years? WTH

:confused: And I don't think LT is washed up like most folks around here...
 
I was offered LT in a dynasty for Rashad Jennings and my likely late #1. I thought about countering but since I have MJD even Jennings alone isn't worth it as he'd be just as valuable starting if MJD goes down and otherwise I'd start Hightower, Driver, and other flex guys over LT anyway. He eventually went for a mid to late #1 in a 14 teamer.

 
When I read the title of the post I thought the complaint was going to be that the trade was lopsided the other way. Dynasty is a different beast.

 
LT is a tough guy to trade in a dynasty. His production fell off so dramatically so quicky.

I have been an owner of LT's since he came into the league in my dynasty, but I held on too long and now I'm trying to deal him for pennies on the dollar. I have Sproles and I am actually trying to package the two of them together for something... no takers.

Story short - Tomlinson's trade value is trash. Getting Greene in a Dynasty league is a steal.

 
Traded LT for McCoy in a ppr dynasty (still happy about that one)

Traded him for M.Bush and Mason in a non (well so far this looks crazy but my thinking is he is a FA next yr and could land on a better team)

I also just traded for LT in a non ppr....(traded LJ/Charles for him basically)

I already have Moreno Dwill Stewert and McGahee so it was a Cash for Clunkers trade.

His value is all over the board dependent upon owner.

 
It's simply a trade where one owner is playing for now and the other the future. Depending on my team's situation I'd be willing to make the trade from either side.

 
LT was traded for a 1st & 2nd next year in one of my 14 team, non-ppr leagues last week. Picks will likely be in the 10-14 range. Greene was drafted with the 1.07 pick this year so this fits to me.

 
Trade seems fine in a Dynasty. I honestly don't think LT will help team #2 much, no matter what his situation is.

There are plenty of backups I would trade LT for if I wanted to look towards the future. Greene...Beanie...Leinart...hell, I'd trade LT for Tebow and he's not even in the NFL.

I don't think LT is washed up. I think he'll have a good 2009 season from here on out, and may well have a pretty good 2010 season too.

But I'd rather have Shonn Greene in a dynasty league (although it's somewhat close since Greene hasn't shown anything at all yet).

Well, the dynamics might be different in a 14-teamer but LT has very little trade value right now in my 12-team dynasty. I can't see anyone paying more than a 2nd for him, let alone a 1st and a 2nd.

In a dynasty format you keep all/most of your roster - in a keeper you are more limited. In dynasty there are several reason Greene has very good value:1) It is assumed Thomas Jones will be playing elsewhere next year.2) Leon Washington is a great change of pace back, but some think he lacks the size to carry the load. Even with Thomas Jones struggling (his YPC over the past 3 games is 3.5), the Jets have worked in Greene more, not Washington. As of now, the Jets still have yet to extend Washington's contract.3) The Jets, with Sanchez (and now Edwards), will have a good offense and a good team for quite some time.4) The Jets traded up to get Greene - and with Leon Washington already on their roster. They obviously like him (or could at least like him better than Washington).Conversely, LT is:1) Old (30) for a RB.2) Becoming an injury concern.3) Seems to be slipping in terms of production (averaging only 3.5 YPC). If this is related to him being 30 - going off the RB "cliff", then he could be done, or at least might be in a year or two.
 
For dynasty purposes, Greene has more value. The only way I'd consider making the deal FOR LT was if I was the proverbial "One player away."...and even then I'd probably avoid this deal.

All the LT owner needs is some big games down the stretch and the trade was worth it. Late 1st's aren't worth that much anyway.

why Maclin is a young extremely talented WR. there is no relation between that and what is being discussed between Greene and LT.LT is on the downside of his career and he basically has no chance at his value rising due to age. this is a young vs old debate.Maclin and Greene is a young WR vs young RB debate. Maclin is 20x's more talented then Greene anyway.
 
I own Shonn Greene, have a competitive team, no way would I think of trading him for a washed up, injury prone, in his last year has been.

You shouldn't - keepers are more limited (depending on how many you can keep). IMHO, Maclin is more of a solid bet than Greene. Greene could be hit or miss - depending on what the Jets do with TJ and Leon. Even if they only keep Leon as a change of pace, he could eat up enough of Greene's carries to make it RBBC. I also think Maclin's #'s are limited by DJax, but there will be plenty of passing numbers to go around in Philly for a while.

It's a dynasty league, so that is a fair deal, IMO. I am not a fan of Greene at all, but many are. Thomas Jones is old, and I believe Leon Washington is a FA after the season. So Greene could be the starter. If you are rebuilding, it makes sense. LT offers little value in the years to come.
