S.Smith owners - start which WR while he is out? (1 Viewer)

For guys with limited bench... Who you plan on starting? I do not want to cut any bench players and picked up Muhammad with my last pick.

I plan on starting Muhammad, but wondered if there is someone else to target on the Waiver Wire?

I am missing both Smith and Marshall in my lineups in 2 different leagues. I'm starting Calvin and Santana Moss in their places in one league and Calvin and Bowe in another.

I do think Moose is a good start for you though. He still has the chemistry with Delhomme, and I expect him to have a very solid day.

Its pretty desparate in my 16 team league. My WR's are Steve Smith, Santonio Holmes, Reggie Brown, Javon Walker and Derek Hagan. I'm actually thinking of rolling Hagan out next to Holmes

T1 - R. Brown. I might drop him and get some one else if he does not practice.

T2 - Cotchery and S. Moss for Smith and Marshall

T3 - I Bruce.

Im looking at a first week of:

Kevin Walter

Eddie Royal

Vincent Jackson

Pretty ugly start, but my experience with WRs is you have a lot of fluctuation and have the ability to find very solid #2/3 starters fairly quickly in a season.

WR is my weakspot in any case, and REALLY hurts without Smith early on (thankfully I have LT2 in that league).

Marshall owners are in the same boat for week1.

My options: S.Moss (@NYG) or M.Muhammad (@SD).

Pro: I'm thinking the lack of pressure from NYGs Dline (Strahan and Osi gone) will reveal just how bad the Giants secondary is.

Con: El, Cooley and even Portis could screw things up with the whole spread it around thing.

or

Pro: Muhammad being reunited with Delhomme where the rapport is solid and hoping for the redzone connection(s).

Con: San Diego D at home week one is not something I'm looking forward to.

The league I have Marshall in I am starting A. Johnson & D. Driver

The few that I have Smith in I am starting Edwards, Bowe, & R. White. R. Moss, Cotchery, & Jennings. Boldin, Jennings, & Cotchery.

From Rotowire...

D.J. Hackett: Should be Okay for Opener - 9/1/2008 10:29:00 AM

Update:

Hackett (toe) is expected to practice with the team on Monday and he should be available to play Sunday against the Chargers, the Charlotte Observer reports.

In what leagues are these kinda guys like Hackett available?
I play in a 10 team league with only 6 roster spots set aside for WR...he went in the very last round...I had no room for him after I grabbed TO, AJ, Calvin, Teddy Ginn, Lee Evans, and yea Chris Henry...I din't trust DJ to play, he had a lot of chances in Seattle and just can' stay on the field, he missed all of preseason...I think he fits nicely on some other rosters in that league but not mine.

Hackett was sitting on the WW in my 12-team, start 3 wr/week PPR league. The league is not head to head, but rather highest weekly points. I would hate for the SS owner to have him, so I just added him, dropping David Patten to make room.

WDIS thread? don't know what your waiver wire looks like because you didn't mention how many teams are in your league, who's been taken already,etc..Steve Smith (NYG) might be a good P/U, same with Ginn, Kevin Walter..
