Santonio Holmes (1 Viewer)

he pulled a hammy in warm ups.

although, yahoo still gave me a point for him, so maybe at some point he came running off the bench to tackle some dude.

Goose egg from this guy hurt me in a big way today?? Anyone watch this game?
I watched the game.He dressed but did not play with a hamstring injury. This hurt me, as well, as I assumed he would make the start. By the time they announced he wouldn't play, it was too late for me to change my roster. :goodposting: Ah, well.

Not to be a jerk, but there's a search function that would pop up any number of Holmes realted threads with the info you're asking for, especially the game thread. You could find out in the time it took you to post another SH thread. And you'd have your answers faster.

This site kept it pretty quiet as well, never heard a word about it until it was too late.
I don't think people knew until the game started. Unless I missed it, there were no Pitt homers saying anything about it prior to the game.

Wow... usually ... and that's why I vehemently log in 10 min before games.. for the dreaded/fluke warmup injury.... I don't onw him, but a shame it wasn't well known.

I have him, was watching the Seattle pregame and the Seahawks blog. Never heard anything about it until well into the game. Must've have slipped through a lot of cracks.

Why didn't any of the staff know about this!!!??? I got a big ZERO for him. NONE of the staff knew of this?????????? Joe Bryant???? Dodds???????

I got a zero too and it's just one of those fluke things that happen in this hobby. Don't blame the staff for your zero.
Footballguys is my secret weapon in my league. I keep it close to the vest, if you know what I'm sayin'. I now may get knocked out of a $5,000 pot because of a loss today. If San Antonio Holmes had gotten me even two points I would be on my way to the money. I CANT believe FBG didn't notify me, where were they???????????? I always use their updates, and now I got a BIG FAT ZERO? Bueller???? Anyone????

because they weren't on the Pittsburgh sideline?
Which is where Holmes was, in uniform. No one knew until it was too late. All the cryers and guys giving the thumbs down, grow up. If you don't like the site, leave. But knock off the hystrionics and attitude and condemnation of this site. It's pathetic.

If there's nothing to notify you of, what is the problem? There was NO UPDATE about Holmes until after the game started. Quit whining. Everyone who played Holmes today got a zero because THERE WAS NO UPDATE to be had by anyone, anywhere. And that includes me too, and I was watching the pregame!

In case you didn't realize, get on board with the sarcasm. I was poking fun at the stereotypical Hungry-Man eatin', beer chuggin', cheatsheet holdin', overweight fantasy football player that comprises 95% of this board.

Yeah, there is no way anyone could have known about him missing the game. They must have made the decision to sit him with minutes before game time. The guy got hurt in warm ups. It's not like he didn't practice on Friday or something. He was supposed to not only be good to go, but to be the number 1 with Ward out.

This type of stuff happens in fantasy football. No way to avoid it. Just bad luck for Holmes owners.

Why is everyone looking to place blame somewhere?

It's called self-responsibility.

Not only that, they didn't announce it until around halfway of the first quarter, so unless you can make roster adjustments after the kickoffs, there is nothing you can do about it. I started Holmes in one league and got burnt. So what? I shrug my shoulders and roll with the punches, nothing FBG or any other FF site could do about it.

I didn't get it but there are always so many bozos going crazy and giving thumbs down to FBGs for stupid stuff, like FWP not in at the goalline. If it doesn't apply to you, then it goes to the rest of the clowns.

They'll be back

Coach Mike Tomlin hopes to have all of his injured players on the field when they resume play Oct. 21 in Denver.

Those include wide receivers Hines Ward (knee sprain) and Santonio Holmes (hamstring), nose tackle Casey Hampton (hamstring), safety Troy Polamalu (torn rib cartilage) and No. 3 cornerback Bryant McFadden (high ankle sprain).

McFadden may be the lone exception.

"We'll see," Tomlin said. "We have a lot of time, which is good. Hopefully we will take advantage of it, in terms of getting healthy."

Tomlin would not say how close any of them were to possibly playing Sunday against Seattle.

"Horse shoes and hand grenades on how close they were. It didn't matter. They weren't able to go, so we went without them."

Unless the guy is inactive there's no way of knowing he's going to lay an egg.

If an injury happens during warmups and you don't have the live game you can expect to be in the dark.

FGB's is actually your best bet for information as many homers might have this type of information before the standard 5 minute lineup deadline before games. Usually when something like this happens there will be information on it during the pre-game talk and FGB homers are nice enough to inform us on the forums.
