Tried what should be considered a decent brand last night, King Oscar. link I have a new appreciation of sardines, going from "no thanks" to "I could eat that." Not great but not bad. On club crackers with a little cream cheese they were quite good though.

Did you change your Hell No vote?

anchovies are better.
Woah, there are rankings? I smell a sardine draft.

Sardines are good. My first experience with them was when I was first getting into sushi and the sushi chef at my favorite place dropped two pieces of sardine nigiri in front of me. He said it was on the house, but he wanted me to try them. I was terrified, since it basically looked like a fish cut in half and dropped on a wad of rice. Probably the best sushi I have ever had.

Since then I've gone all-in, but you need to avoid the brands like Bumble Bee and avoid all the stuff in mustard or tomato sauces. Opt for olive oil.

I get the wild planet at Costco in a 6 pack. they do have bones and skin. not sure if there are other brands there but 6 cans for $15 of wild planet is a great price
Thanks. At the Costco I go to, they generally carry Seasons brand, skinless and boneless, but I will keep a lookout for the Wild Planet brand.
Recently bought the Wild Planet brand at Costco for ~$10 for 6. Don't remember having them before but they were good and I'll buy more. Only negative is that they're a bit high in sodium (270mg).

I really want to try some boneless sardines maybe kinda spicey. Anyone have a recommendation?
See my post above. They do have bones (I think) but you won't notice them. Not overly spicy but it's a nice pepper sauce.

Started the mashed avocado and sardines thing for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I go with this every other day and am loving it. I am still putting it on toasted Healthnut bread though ...I know I need to stop with the bread all together.

This stuff is delicious. It doesn't look good and the kids clear the room. What do they know?

I like the boneless, skinless in olive oil - King Oscar brand though I didn't mind the Polar brand of the same ($1 cheaper also)

Sounds like a real "superfood" there. Gonna have to try it.

Will be trying TJ's sardines in spring water for lunch or afternoon snack. Hope I like them as much as the one's in harissa.

Just heated a can up in the skillet with some peppers and onions. Threw that on top of jasmine rice. Good god that was good and so damn easy.
