Saw a bunch of NFL players working out in Orlando. (1 Viewer)

Not sure if this belongs here or not but a couple of weeks ago my daughter was playing in the AAU National Volleyball event in Orlando. On the third day the played at the Milk House at Disney http://disneyworldsports.disney.go.com/dww...age2&bhcp=1

While we had an hour break I went outside with another dad..there are many soccer, baseball, football and track training areas there.

On a soccer field about 200 yards away I see a group of men playing what I thought was soccer..but they were running as well as passing and kicking what looked like a soccerball.

As I got closer I said to my friend "These are not soccer players" The drill lasted around another 20 minutes or so. They broke up and I walked up to one the the trainers and asked what was that game they were playing..he repied "It is called Gator-Ball..a conditioning and speed drill. I said "who are these guys? They don`t look like soccer players" He laughed and said "Because they are all NFL players"

There were a total of around 30 guys there and he began rattling off names..7-9 Jax Jaguars including MJD and Greg Jones and Reggie Williams, 5-6 Eagles..no one that I knew, 5-6 Bucs, 5-6 Steelers..mostly defensive guys he said and 8-10 guys who were FAs trying to get in shape for camps.

The one thing that stood out more than anything was "The Speed" of these guys up close. There were RBs, WRS, DBs, LBs there..I don`t think there were any lineman because every player was big and ripped!!

I was watching Greg Jones..the guy is a monster up close and looked very fast..I have seen him on TV and he looks slow! The LB types were 230-240 LBs and looked like track stars up close..the DBs and WRs quickness was remarkable while watching from 10 yards away.

I have a new found respect for the NFL game, the speed and strength at close range is scary! I really don`t know how you could play 16 games with getting a serious injury.

Notice that you were in Orlando also...one of the hottest places in the country this time of year.

These guys are in better shape than any NFL players have ever been...bigger than they've ever been...faster than they've ever been.
