Seattle homers (1 Viewer)

I've been stashing Engram on my bench, but I get more and more concerned that Hass is not coming back this year. Back injuries are weird animals, and the fact that his has impacted his lower limbs is a bad bad sign for me.

So, Seattle homers, any imput on Hass and his prospects to return? And, if he does NOT return, are any WRs worth holding onto with Wallace/Frye behind center?

Ok...so maybe there aren't any Seattle homers left.

Anyone who's seen a Seahawks game or two? I don't have the ticket, and have not seen them at all. Is Engram washed up, or are the QBs that bad?

I saw Wallace in person 2 years ago in Arrowhead, and he wasn't so terrible.

If you're in an IDP league there are a couple of guys I would want. The rest may be spot fillers for injuries or next week byes but I would not count on any offense from any of them on a weekly basis.

Okay, I'll come out of hiding as a Seattle homer.

We have no QB. Wallace is a decent backup but he cannot win games at an NFL level.

The Seahawks operate in a west coast offense - that means PASS first, and it is not designed to be run heavy. Holmgren has never coached a run-heavy offense.

Engram isn't washed up - the reason he was valuable in past years is not so much because of his athletism, but because of seniority. He knows how to run the routes Holmgren and Hass are looking for. The problem this year, of course, is that chemistry is gone with Hass out indefinetly.

I personally have dropped Engram in my league. I grabbed Brandon Lloyd who is supposed to be returning from injury soon. Even if Hass returns, he hasn't seen much practice time, and it may take a week or two to get things rolling again. If you get production from Engram it will be sporadic at best.

I was at the game last night. I've watched every game this year as much as it pains me to admit.

Seneca is a role player. He's a good back-up when he's not called on to be the starter and much of his value comes from his mobility. Unfortunately, it seems that the calf problems that have kept him out for a few games this year are much worse than I ever thought they were. Seneca is short and he simply can't stand in the pocket and sling it like a traditional QB might. He needs to run a root or slide out a bit to get some visibility and then throw. Without the ability to do that, he's simply not that good. He's not much of a deep threat. His accuracy is questionable.

Without a legit QB in this offense, none of the players are going to be worth much on a consistent basis. Sure, you'll get an occasional big play like Koren had yesterday but you're not going to get much more than that. I dropped Engram last week with the idea that Hasselbeck isn't likely to come back anytime soon and even if he does, I'm not sure that he and Engram can get their chemistry back that quick.

In summary, avoid the Hawks. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Sorry guys! Coming from a Chiefs homer, I feel your pain too!

Thanks for the info. I felt the same as all three of you describe, but didn't want to be the chump that gave up on a late season turnaround that could have helped me. I see guys like Anthony Gonzalez and Antonio Bryant on the wire, and it's killing me to hold on Engram with Hass looking like a fork is in his back this year.

Also realize this should have gone in the Asst. Coach forum, so my apologies for that gang!

You're guess is as good as mine. Unfortunately, there are times when we have to wait and see instead of having confidence in what we think might happen. This is one of those times.

No, but they do get to play against the Rams again at some point which is the football equivalent of staying in a Holiday Inn the night before the game.
