Seattle @ Washington ... Pregame chatter (1 Viewer)

MS, there is a difference in RG3 being "everything we hoped he'd be", and "everything we expected him to be". And I think you probably know that.
I don't see why it makes a difference, and I really don't see why so many got their hackles up about it. Nothing that I was saying was a put down or negative in any way. Not being familiar with the team very much, this was pretty much what I thought was more or less expected from him. You can point to this stat or that stat and say that no one expected that particular thing out of him, but as far as I was concerned, he should've put up Cam numbers at the least if not more (better coach).
You just can't EXPECT greatness from any rookie in professional sports. You hope for it, and you gamble on it. You don't expect it.
He isn't just "any" rookie.eta: and he wasn't considered just "any" rookie going into the draft.
Not even the most hyped QB in the draft. There was another guy that was the consensus #1 draft pick, in case you forgot.Though you probably didn't forget...you probably are just blinded by your blind thirst for attention.

Redskins fans, give up now. You are dealing with people who come from a backwater city who's biggest landmark is a TROLL. True story. You can not out trash talk Seacocks fans - they live in a place that hasn't been relevant since 1995, and it is all they have.

Most of them dream to come down to San Francisco. It is only the truly hopeless that remained behind. Pity them, but don't try to beat them at what they're best at.

And if the Redskins can't deal out karmic judgment to their team of cheaters and cheap shot artists, fear not. The Niners will take care if business when the Seacocks leave their canned-cheer hovel in three weeks, just like we did earlier this year.

Does Vernon Davis know what planet he is on yet?

13 days. For the record, the memory of San Francisco fans is 13 days.

Looks like 49er fans are still pretty pissed after that drubbing.

My apologies. I was unaware that only one player per draft was capable of being hyped and having very high expectations placed on them. Makes that #1 overall pick seem extremely more important than I thought.

Shanahan > Carrol Over their NFL careers, sure. Over the past 3 years, not so sure

RG3 > Wilson Statistically very close this season. I'll take RW's smarts, leadership and health by a knee

Morris > Lynch Morris had a great year but the Beast is better

Garcon > Rice Push

Moss > Tate Toss-up

Cooley > Miller Not likely a major factor, but pretty even

The Hogs > the **** Doesn't matter

Forbath > Haushmazilly Both solid kickers--it's a crapshoot

Fletcher > your rookie No way

Riley and Kerrigan > Wright and Hill Not sure about this one so I'll give it to you

Hall and Wilson = Your drug addicts You must be high

Our Legit 12th Man > your speaker system And drunk

And I'll give you the nod at safety. I concur

= a Redskin win 30-20! Sea 30 Wash 17

San Fran here we come I've heard the Alcatraz Night tour is the way to go. But be sure to reserve ahead of time. Enjoy! We'll be in Atlanta
Here's to a good game! Go 'Hawks! :banned:

Why would they be? Despite that drubbing, the 49ers still got the 2 seed and a bye, and the Seahawks still ended up as the 5 seed that will have to win three road games to make it to the Super Bowl. Had the 49ers won that game, the exact same scenario would have been in place, so in essence, Seattle drubbing the 49ers meant nothing.

If it wasn't for the replacement refs, this game would be in GB. Massive asterisk on the SF season if they win.

I don't think you know what "upset" means either. Getting called out for a stupid comment doesn't mean anyone is upset. Just pointing out your comment was off base. Anywho, I'm off the line now. May the best team win. I'm nervous, but this season has all been gravy. I don't think anyone outside of Redskins Park truly expected to win the division after such terrible seasons. And to do it at home vs. Dallas is just special. As will a win today.

Discussion? Doesn't really look that way. Expectations are subjective and vary from one person to the next. There's no right answer here but that won't stop you from going on and on and on...

That would be a better question for the pissed off 49er fan trolling in here than me

Should be quite a fun game to watch.

Think Seattle is a little bit better...but being on the road could be that equalizer..thinking a FG wins this one late.

It's always entertaining to see the fan bases come out lf the woodwork when two previously irrelevant teams manage to slip into the playoffs and face off.

It's like watching a whole pen of freshly hatched chicks all trying to learn to walk at the same time.

:lmao:

Go on and on.... by responding to people? Discussion, even argument, is a two way street. Seems like a few people want to make this out to be a lot more than it is. One guy had higher expectations of RG3 than others did. Yet, a bunch of people are jumping on that as if that's somehow a bad thing.

Lol @ the expectations for a rookie QB to come in and win the MVP and superbowl in his rookie season.
Lol@the guy who hasn't comprehended what was said. If you DID understand what was said, then you would know that those would fall in the "exceeded expectations" category. Thanks for playing though.

Gameday!! Finally all the talk from the skins fans can stop and we can see if their team can put their money where their mouth is.
Says the Seahawks fan who has been running his mouth all week.
Oh...for far longer than a week.
 When will you run out of tears?
Thats your comeback?Yeah...everyone must just be crying right? Nice try...
Love Scientist's name as he goes 100% with his heart and never with his head and facts when it comes to the Seahawks

What I've comprehended is that your expectations for RG3 are fairly unreasonable by any standard. He's had arguably the best rookie season of any QB ever and that's not enough to exceed expectations? I know you keep saying that this isn't meant to be a jab at RG3 but it sure seems that way. You're essentially downplaying his accomplishments by saying that he wad expected to perform this well. Anyways I'm not a Redskins fan but this is my observation.

I guess the multitude of times that I said I wasn't doing that, the times I said that he should win the ROY etc aren't enough to convince you? I haven't slammed any Redskin (other than Hall) in here, haven't predicted a blowout nor been cocky about the Seahawks, haven't slammed any Skins fans etc... Repeatedly pimped RG3 as ROY and asserted (and re-asserted) that he's lived up to enormous expectations based on his Heisman, possible 1st overall choice, his attitude, leadership, intelligence and good guy-ness and in direct proportion to the heavy price paid to move up and get him. Yet you think I'm slamming RG3?! I think it's more impressive to say that he's met such high expectations than to say that he's exceeded expectations. People that are reading it as you are (and based on your lol post, maybe you should not be used as an example as that's clear proof you didn't actually comprehend what you read) seem to want it to be a negative so you can go on a warpath.

If you think this is me going on a warpath, you're fairly delusional. Anyways it's semantics--your standards for exceeding expectations are different than mine. No big deal--thanks for clarifying as we both agree what RG3 has done is nothing short of amazing.

You can have your definition of a warpath, but coming into it with an lol@blahblahblah_something _that_was_never_said doesn't exactly put you on the rational side.eta: the warpath comment was largely aimed at Warrior who once again pops in on a semi high horse and blasts away from an indefensible position

Ok then chief. Looks like you have some issues to sort out but sorry that my lol offended you. My intention wasn't to go on a warpath against you. I thought your expectations were unreasonable but you clarified for me. Good luck today.

More guys on NFL Gameday Morning picked Seattle (split 3-2).

Feels like a coin flip game to me. Will be interesting to see if Seattle plays more man or zone. If it were me I would man up on the outside and attack, but won't be surprised to see them sit back and play safe. Perhaps they play safe early and dial up the man in the second half?

Going to be a tough last few hours waiting...

It's not gonna bother me much. For one, the early game can't possibly be worse than the games yesterday! Two, it's not a 5pm game PST like yesterday's late game. And three, as it happens there was no thunder early this morning when it started to rain here in Los Angeles. My dog whining woke me up at 4AM and naturally with the pitter patter of rain on my roof I thought she was just scared, or maybe the pressure was making her aged hips hurt (she's 10). Nope! Very soon I heard a different sort of liquid mixture hitting my house, this time from the inside. It did not smell fresh and life-giving like a winter shower. Needless to say, I am spending a decent portion of my morning with the Rug Doctor...

Smart dog, she was demonstrating what the Hawks are going to do to the Skins today. With your carpet playing the role of the Redskins and her playing the role of the Seahawks.
