The time to sell high on Reggie Bush was sometime around 2006.
His value is still pretty limited even if Thomas doesn't play- he got pulled at the goal line for Steve Slaton of all people.

Bush didn't get pulled at the goal line, he came out earlier in the series. I get the point but there is a difference.
They had 2 of them in the game, Slaton was in for both.

You mean the one right after Bush busted a 35 yard run and got horse collared OB. it's not that unusual that a guy comes out after a long run. Whatever, you see what you want to see.
The Phins had 2 goal line situations last week and Bush wasn't in the game for either. It's a small sample size and it doesn't mean Bush will never be in on the goal line, but I see what actually happened. I guess he needed multiple plays off both times to catch his breath.

No question to me that Miami looked to use Slaton as Miami's short-yardage/goal line back.
Also appreciate why the trust isn't there, the guy is a bust as a dependable starting NFL running back.
But as a fantasy back, Bush had over 100 yards rushing with Thomas out. He's also averaged almost 50 rush ypg and 3 receptions for ~16 ypg this year.
Not saying you can pin your championship hopes on him, but in deep PPR leagues, with a dearth of RBs thanks to injury and general sucktitude versus expected value (i.e. Chris Johnson), Bush does have some worth here as Thomas continues to ail.

Sadly this is likely true (at least when only Reggie Bush is available). Just saw stat on NFL Fantasy Live. Steve Slaton has seven touches this year, for 7 yards. All & touches were in GL situations. I'm guessing these were when Thomas was out due to injury. Ergo Reggie is just gonna need to get his TD's from longer than 10 yards (20 yards?) and out.'Stompin said:

Actually maybe a better idea is trading for an owner's regular No. 2 because they think that Bush is all of a sudden reliable as a replacement.
Pretty sure your best bet is to target someone else an owner doesn't likely feel good about but you have a reason to believe will have more success in the future a la lynch w/ TJax.

Agree, that's about an even trade in both standard and PPR formats. Not exactly what us looking to selling high would be looking for. Would love to get a guy like a Benson or a Blount for Bush in a PPR, playing up the average PPG consistency and his ongoing pass catching ability, but that's a pipe dream. I'm aiming for a Battle, Thomas or Tolbert -- all more feasible, but just as likely to get turned down.

as long as thomas is injured Bush looks like a pretty solid rb2, and maybe even a low rb1 in pprs

I just don't think he'll be starting for me in my PPR with McCoy, Jackson, and Murray. I don't think he'll ever score more than the 25 he just scored, so maybe I can get a WR2 for him.
I watched 2 Miami games this year. The first game against the paths and the game against the giants. Reggie looked good both games and Miami didn't look like a 1 and 7 team. As I did with the saints, I think Reggie opens the offense up more and gives defenses more to guard against. I would love to plug bush in as a number 2 rb. But I can't because it looks like Miami is in love with Thomas.

Not sure why Bush wouldn't continue to see 14-15 touches per game at this point. And (much to my surprise) he's actually looked pretty good running the ball the last couple games. Not fluky plays either, he's running where the play is called.

At 2-7, I'm headed for an early pick in my Zealots dynasty league next year and I don't have that strong of a roster.
That being said said, I just traded Bush (pending approval) for a 2nd round pick to a team who is in the middle of the pack in the hunt for the playoffs. He was short on RB fire power, so Bush might help him.
Best case scenario is that the trade nets me something in the 2.3 - 2.6 pick range.
