Selling high on Vick (1 Viewer)

Do you think the new look Vick is here for the season or will he revert to some of his old habits when he goes up against better defenses?

I have him as a backup to Rodgers, so I'll probably try to package him with one of my starters for an RB1, but I wanted to get the FBG consensus.

if you have rodgers, manning, brees or brady id sell him. otherwise id start him every week. even on a bad day he will still get you on average 40-50 rushing yards to make up for the 2 INTs he throws

I drafted Brees early and picked up Vick on the off-chance he did this. So I'm definitely trying to peddle him and upgrade at WR/TE, but I'm not gonna give him away. If I have to keep him as the best bye week replacement in the league so be it. I don't mind keeping a top backup and not letting a competitor get pushed over the top by adding Vick. I'm well aware of the two lousy defenses he's faced so this might be where his value is highest but he looks like a solid #1 QB the rest of the way regardless.

I wouldn't be shocked to see his stock fall a little. But it won't be next week. The Redskins defense doesn't look all that good. Vick played the Lions and Jaguars. Not exactly two great defenses. He actually looked erratic in the first half today I thought. He missed some throws and at one point, I think he was about 3-for-11. The Jaguars are just awful. Just awful. They're worse than the Lions. If they don't finish bottom five I will be shocked.

If Vick does not produce a suitable trade, would you consider keeping Vick and trading Brees (who presumably would still fetch more)?

I have Vick and Big Ben/Stafford right now, and I'll probably throw out some trade offers, but I'm not desperate to move Vick. I don't understand the whole "he's only faced bad defenses, and he's about to face a gauntlet of shut down defenses" argument. Sure he faced Detroit and Jacksonville, and GB wasn't "prepared." However, no one else torched Jacksonville for as much as Vick did (Orton and Rivers are the other two QBs), Favre didn't torch Detroit at all, and Cutler put up similar numbers as Vick did against Detroit. His upcoming games are Washington and SF, who don't exactly inspire fear anymore. Washington gave up huge games to Bradford and Schaub, and SF has let Hasselbeck, Brees, and Cassel smoke them. In addition, I'm not really that afraid of any of the divisional rivals, except maaaybe Dallas's D, who held Schaub in check but couldn't contain Cutler. The giants and redskins aren't that good.

I don't think Vick will continue being the #1 quarterback, but I also don't think he'll fall off a cliff. In my eyes, he's a top 10 QB who has the obvious potential for huge games where he is the #1 scorer certain weeks. He's still got amazing weapons, and is mobile enough to get a few runs and avoid some sacks.

I agree that only owners who already have Rodgers, Brees, Manning, or Brady should trade him. It's possible he ends up the #5 fantasy QB this year. Even in his bad games, he has 200 yard/1 TD and 40/1 TD capability.

I totally agree here.. yes Vick has looked good once they were able to gain control of the game..but he's beaten a couple of "very less than stellar" opponents.. the Jags literally quit yesterday..next week is Washington and they proved yesterday that they have their own issues as well on defense..when Vick performs well and even wins against a couple 2 or 3 quality opponents I'll bite.. until then.. hold your water..personally I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid just yet..

Why would anyone trade the best performing QB in the league? Is this because you think his value will go down?

Shouldnt this thread be titled: How to sell high

Yes Im an Eagles fan, and I love my Eagles QB, but I HATE Vick

Got Ray Rice for him on Firday .... Guy was loaded at RB and is an Eagles fan.

He must have put a vodoo curse on Rice though.... as is life.

Like others have said, the matchups so far may have been as good as they could have possibly been. Here are how other QBs fared against Det/Jax

334/3

300/1

375/2

200/1

Philly's schedule gets a lot tougher from here on out, and if I had Vick as a pairing with another top 6 or so QB he's the guy that I'd be looking to sell.

I've got Vick and Matt Ryan. I am in desperate need of a RB and was thinking of offering up one of these. I realize this might be better suited in the AC forum, but since we have a sell Vick thread going here I though I would post this here.

I do like what I am seeing so far from both but as stated above Vick has played some easy teams and does have some more challenging games coming up. Right now Vick is the sexier pick and I could probably get more for him than Ryan. I also like ATL schedule more for playoff time.

I think I am going to wiggle Vick in front of a few owners and see what they say.

Vick has more points in my nfl.com standard league than any other player. He is at the top in fantasy points. I hope you get a stud if your trading him away because it appears Vick is a must start QB stud at this point

Same situation here, except I have Schaub with him. Need a RB. What kind of RB should Vick garner, straight up?

I've got Vick and Cutler. I used to have Stafford before he went down.

Not sure what to do. I could use a RB.

I understand it's cool to say he only played the Packers in "garbage time", Lions, and Jags but who really is on the Eagles schedule that's scary. On the road against Tenn and Chicago maybe, home vs. Vikings in Week 16. Everyone one else can get shredded just the same.

Vick's games against tough defenses are definitely later in the season. Both Dallas games and Minnesota are late in the season. Therefore, if Ryan has an easier schedule late in the season I would probably trade Vick. Also, if Vick does hit a bad patch for several games, he could always be benched to give Kolb experience. There is no chance that Ryan would get benched. If I owned Vick though, I would be cautious about trading him right away. First, he is valuable as a back-up in case your stud starter gets hurt. Second, by him being on your bench, he is not putting up big numbers for another team.I get the sense that alot of people think that he is going to revert to the same old Vick, who could not beat a good defense. Keep in mind that there may betwo things working in Vick's favor that indicate he will continue to play well against all opponents. First, he has much better receiving weapons to work with than he did in Atlanta. Second, by his own admission last year, he said he never really studied defenses or learned the offense as much as he could when he was with Atlanta. He basically just relied on his physical tools. If he is applying himself more and studying defenses more with the Eagles, then he may haveramped up his game enough to be able to handle top defenses. I am not sold on that yet, but I definitely think it is a possibility.

Was @SF Atl @Ten (bye8) Ind @Was

I heard a guy on radio suggest this on Sunday. No idea why anyone would sell Vick now. Next 6 teams have holes in pass D

I'd sell one of the 'safer' guys if it meant better value. Vick has ridiculous upside
