Serious Business Dynasty League (1 Viewer)

With all my recent trades I think my team will be pretty solid for a long time, other than saves. Gonna need some young guys to step up in the next year or two, but Im really liking the team.

I liked most of your moves but I'm not as sure about A-Rod. 35 and trending the wrong direction.Nice to see this little flurry of activity in the league. Should be fun next year as some of the dispersal teams start to improve.I like my team quite a bit too. Offense was pretty good this year and is young with room to grow, and SP should be much better next year with Scherzer and a healthy Zimmermann.

Still, if Arencibia had been recalled 2 weeks ago instead of today, I may not have made this deal.
 McCann OTB. Looking for a starting pitcher or MI.
Caliber you're looking for? I could package up Suzuki and someone like Jose Lopez or else of just go pitching. I have some strong pitching but not sure if trading a real stud is worth the upgrade over Suzuki or Posada. I do like McCann though.

I am selling John Buck who is a catcher that is on pace for twenty bombs and will be off the 15 day DL in a few days. He's not old but I have VMart who never sits. Im looking for whatever. Make an offer. I could package him with a prospect also. Could use a closer maybe or a bat.

Where is bender? Did he pay? I drafted him some nice young dudes but now he's a ghost? If we can find a better (more active) owner now I'll pay his fee this year. If anyone else is gonna leave let me know as I wanna tighten this league up as we have a great core of active owners imo. And where is Greco these days?

If he paid I'll give him his $$ back to just leave if he doesn't want to play. :lmao: I want an active league.

What's Astro glide? Wandy Rodriguez's hair product?

Owners of: David Price, Pedro Alvarez, Mike Minor ... I'm looking at you. Trade them. Now.

Rule question: If we are operating with a minimum and maximum amount of IP, why are we required to keep 9 P in our lineup at all times?

That is a good question. Having to keep 9 in the lineup doesn't make sense. There were times this year when I put injured pitchers or prospects in my lineup so I could bench bad matchups. Hopefully I won't have to do that in the future.

I think it's an anomaly of the CBS site

Oh and Ricky Romero.....bright future with this kid. Look out if he ever gets traded to a strong contender. Could go down as one of the greats. Been following him since High School.

I've been regularly spotting DL'ed pitchers in my lineup for 3 seasons. I still wind up way over the IP limit. If we're going to make it where you can only realistically throw 5 SP for all their starts, we should set the line-ups as such. It is annoying to have 7 or 8 usable starting pitchers and know that they are a complete waste.

1450 isn't an unreasonable IP limit for a nine man staff. Five SP slots averaging 200IP plus four RPs w/ 60 IP. It gives owners flexibility to stream hot pitchers and matchups but avoids penalizing owners who don't want do daily lineup juggling. It's been the standard since year one and the limit is same for everyone.I have crap RPs available who aren't much worse than spotting DL pitchers.

The limit is perfect. Really 5 SP * 200 + 4 RP * 60 is only 1240, so you can work in a 6th starter or a few garbage RPs.It's more the fact that you have to have 9 guys in the lineup every day. Cuts into the flexibility, especially if a team gets over pace on the IP limit.

:lmao: not sure what formula I was using in the previous post

I guess that's my point. Make the league 5SP/3RP/1Flex if you are wanting a 1450 IP situation.

Don't make it something it's not. The 9 "P" format is designed for flexibility. If someone wants to play 6 closers and 3 starters, they can. If someone wants to play 8 starters and 1 reliever, they can do that too. It's all about let people find a balance in ratios and counting stats that they are comfortable with. The 1450 IP limit dictates that for you.

As I've said in previous discussions about this, penalizing someone for having more than 5 good SP and wanting to start them in a 9 P format defeats the purpose of having that flexibility. I find it utterly ridiculous that we have to bench superior pitchers on a regular basis for DL'ed or scrub middle relievers.

Not to mention the fact that a pitcher throwing well and going deeper into games HURTS his team if they are in an IP crunch. How dumb is that? Should I be rooting for Halladay to throw 5 instead of 9 to save me 4 IP against the limit?

Every major challenge that uses the 9 pitcher format does not place an IP limit on teams. Granted, most of them function as a weekly transaction league, but even that is preferable to the current set up.

Obviously, this isn't sour grapes from me either. I've been doing pretty well in the rules that we're given, I'm just saying there has to be a better way to do it.

Im open to voting on whatever in the off season. That being said I have the best SP's imo and I benched Lester against the Yanks and Ubaldo and Wainwright during some tough matchups. I am only throwing my top guys with good matchups here on out and I could lose K's and wins over it.

I'm currently #2 and just lost K-Rod for the season. Don't think I'll be making a play at the title. Either R n R or Berserker look like the only teams that could come close to catching PIK.

I've got some rentals available.

Konerko may put you over the top. Putting up video game numbers.
