My sister sent me this text recently concerning my nephew who has to go back to school half a nation away.

Hey, Mike decided he wants to have some Mario's pizza before he leaves town tomorrow. We're going to the Mario's on Elm and Oak 6:30. Hope to see you there!
Sister sent this about noon. When would you assume the pizza meet-up is? Today (same day the text was sent) or tomorrow (the day after the text was sent)?

A woman sent it? It's either yesterday or MLK Day 2018. And the Pizza party is under an Elm tree at Mario Oak's house.

I'm voting today, just based on the assumption that he likely wouldn't leave for school half a nation away after 6:30 PM.

But even that's a feeble assumption.

"he wants to have some Mario's pizza before he leaves town tomorrow" ≠ "he wants to have some Mario's pizza tomorrow before he leaves town"

Would assume today.

Assuming though her misplaced "tomorrow" means she actually meant tomorrow.

I think I know just what Nelson would say upon learning that someone showed up today for a pizza outing planned for tomorrow.

Depends. If you know he's leaving tomorrow night, it would be tomorrow.

Otherwise yesterday.

Today.. well, not today, but yesterday. Since you posted it yesterday I assume today means yesterday.

Voted today. Right, I read it once, read it twice, and I think "day of" at 6.30. - Then I think some more and realize she probably is thinking something else entirely. Confirm.

You missed out on some good pizza because you thought it was tomorrow, didn't you?
That depends on what part of the country he is in. If its anywhere outside of NY or chicago he may have dodged a bullet

Holy crap, this is an insane pace.
The date I joined is not the date I started posting. It took 3-4 days to get my posting privelages
That's more posts in less than a month than I've made in 11 years. By the time you've been here as long as I have, you should be around 200,000 posts.

Not complaining, just making an observation.

Too vague. You're on the west coast, which means you know damn well he could be taking a red eye.

Im sure MC has over 20k posts if you add all the alias' over the years.

What we really need to know is what you were doing or what your sister thought you were doing when she expected to see you for good bye pizza with nephew.

You were in a bar, weren't you?

He wants pizza before he leaves town tomorrow. Period. End of thought.

We're going at 6:30. No further time references indicated. Meaning unless it was the very next 6:30 on the local clock, she screwed up the text.

Was wondering why this is hard, but then saw the poll results, and apparently it isn't.

So why the hubbub? Did you show up at 6:30 and have to eat breadsticks and large pepperoni yourself?

:lmao: Wouldn't say I missed out. It's not like I haven't had that pizza...I have.

To be fair I just skimmed over the text once when I first got it.

I was in the middle of making dinner when my wife came home. She says "So I guess we're not going for pizza?" BUT she did admit than when she first read the text she assumed it was for "tomorrow" as well.

I texted my sister later and told her "Sorry we missed out. I read the text as if it was for tomorrow." She tried to give me crap for it but then later on she texted me back that another couple read it that way too.
