Seyi Ajirotutu (Who was Miles Austin before October 11, 2009?) (1 Viewer)

Missed the boat on this one even though I believed.

Picked up Jordy Nelson instead of Seyi just b/c he was playing in primetime. STUPID.

Seriously thought about picking up Seyi too and starting him over Steve Smith CAR and didnt. STUPID.

Will probably cost me a victory and 1st place. STUPID.

:wall:

I thought about starting a new thread on this...

but with the Bye week coming up, Gates likely coming back, and V Jax returning from suspension, is Tutu a hold or is he droppable?

I'd say you gotta drop him(or trade him NOW) in redraft leagues. Dynasty leagues, no reason to let him go if you can afford to hold. You all saw first hand yesterday what happens when talent meets opportunity. If he finds himself at the #2 spot on the depth chart next year he is going to be a very good WR to add to your Dynasty team. Deep threat on a passing team.

This is the value of footballguys. Had a busy week, not as much time spent on FF as normal, and would have totally missed the boat on this guy without this thread. My opponent and I have the two high scores for the week and without Ajirotutu starting I'd likely have lost.

Thanks for the thread!

for those asking if he is droppable.

In re-draft he for sure is. In Dyansty hold on to him because w the CBA and Floyd n Vjax situations in doubt you never know what you got here.

Yeah, Ajirotutu's definitely a hold in dynasty leagues. I picked him up in both of my main leagues but I didn't start him in either this week.

Oh, audible sigh.

Didn't start him, but picked him up in a dynasty league. Thanks OP.
Same here.He scored 37 pts on my bench. :mellow:At least it will help my power ranking. :wall:
Chalk me up as another guy who stashed him in dynasty due to this thread (thanks, OP!) but didn’t have the cajones to start him and will likely lose this week as a result). I’m ok with that as others have noted that this kid could start in 2011 and have Rivers tossing him the rock. Unreal that pretty much every WR for SD is a FA…..

PREDICTION...V Jax gets signed with NE after Brady realizes it's nice to have a Moss-like deep threat. Floyd and Seyi are the starting WR's for the Chargers. Both of them end up in the top 30 next year for FF scoring. Naanee gets picked up somewhere else, and Davis becomes the #3 in SD, and basically irrelevant for FF purposes.Philip Rivers becomes the consensus #1 QB for redraft next year.

I was also very close to grabbing him for a 1 week play but did not because of the BYE and likely return of Floyd, Gates, Nanee and then VJax down the road. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on the viewpoint), I got my butt whipped and the decision was moot.

Grabbed him in dynasty. Was very close to playing him over BMW but didn't. That said, I'd say in dynasty, hes an absolute HOLD with the cloudiness at WR there next year, and VJax almost certainly gone..

Grabbed him sunday morning. Didn't have the guts to start him. If I would have, I would have had high scoring week for the year. Thats guranteed cash right there. Dang it.

No chance Davis comes back.
Is he a FA?
Check the Charger homer thread, Im pretty sure he got put on the IR release when healthy list. He wont be back
He's on IR, and he's under contract through next season. The Chargers have to be frustrated with his inability to stay healthy; but it's not a sure thing (IMO) that he'll be released before training camp next season. He could be released during training camp as soon as he misses his first practice with a strained hammy or whatever. On the off chance he stays healthy and blows everybody away, he could make the final 53 again next season. But that's all kind of irrelevant to this thread, because I don't think there's any way the Chargers would keep Davis over Tutu next year. Tutu will have a roster spot for sure.

With Floyd and Jackson in contract years and the Chargers winning without either of them, he may be the #1 WR next year...

(Rotoworld) Chargers coach Norv Turner confirmed that Seyi Ajirotutu has solidified a roster spot for the remainder of the season. Analysis: Ajirotutu will struggle for a big role once Vincent Jackson (Roster Exempt) and Malcom Floyd (hamstring) return, but the rookie has led San Diego wideouts in receiving in two straight games. "He obviously will make tough catches, and he obviously can get deep," Turner said. "He is an exciting player . I see him being with us for a long time." The Chargers have a bye in Week 10.

AKA bye bye V Jax, we don't need ya!

This kid is the WR of the future, not some ST specialist.

I think he meant put V Jax on ST. Right?

Sorry 'bout that. misinterpretation.

Is this guy worth owning in redraft leagues? Can he be an okay flex start going forward?
He had his big game with Gates, Floyd, Naanee and VJ out. After the bye he'll have Gates, Floyd and Naanee backThe next week VJ comes back.I'm not saying it's impossible for him to do well, but I would wait to see how he does with everyone back before pinning any hopes on him

Thanks. I know it's a long shot. Probably too much of a long shot for a redraft league.

I'd expect him to be on the 45-man active roster in week eleven, but not to play much on offense. After that, I would expect him to stay on the 53-man roster, but not to be active on game days. (Unless there are more injuries.)

Depends on the health of Floyd and when VJax starts playing
Chargers are on a bye this week and the following week, Floyd should be ready to play, and VJax will be eligible to play. So I guess he should unowned in most redraft leagues?
It depends on your roster size and depth. I wouldn't advise dropping him outright just because Floyd and Vincent Jackson are set to return next week and week 12, respectively. Let's not forget that both wideouts have some uncertainties and could very easily tweak a hammy or whatnot, in which case Ajirotutu would be a nice option on your bench. He has the most productive QB in fantasy football throwing the skin. I'd roster him if I had the space.

thishowever with Vjax coming back and Floyd, Naanee et.al coming back from injury, in re-draft you missed your boat

Not necessarily. A lot of unknowns at this point. It's not like Naanee was lighting it up. I could see Turner going with the proven production. And who knows if Floyd will reinjure the hammy (or Naanee for that matter). I'm holding. Unless you seriously need the roster space (and at this point in the season I can't imagine what you need it for), I see no reason to drop him. He's somewhat of a lottery ticket right now, but he's a proven lottery ticket, unlike a lot of guys you stash.

I think at the very least this guy has a lot of potential. He's worth stacking on a bench in a dynasty, keeper league. I think he's got a lot of upside.

I like his long term prospects. I mean Vjax is gone after this year. Floyd may or may not be gone. He could be a really nice fill in. I like his story so far, he's fought his way up from undrafted FA to a guy who is in the mix.
