Shark Pool Board Mock Draft - Version 1 (1 Viewer)

PITTSBURGH STEELERS - 1.24 Michael Brockers - DT/NT - LSU Had to go with the best players available for the Steelers, fills an immediate need at defensive line, and depending on how Brockers develops he could play inside at NT or DE (with Ziggy or Heyward moving to NT).I also considered: G Cordy Glenn (UGA) and ILB Dont'a Hightower (ALA)
The teams with 3/4 defenses like what they see on the board right now.

:wall: we pass on him and then he goes to the enemy so we have to see him twice a year. Hightower would also have been an excellent pick.

Didn't I get teased the other day for mocking a defensive lineman to the Steelers?
Yeah, you sent the guy from Michigan ST. there, Jerel Worthy. If it Brockers were gone I probably would've gone Glenn or Hightower.Kind of disappointed that Poe wasnt there though, but I'm completely satisfied with Brockers.PSI was the heckler :hey:

Really torn on Hightower and Brockers, I had to take the value with Brockers there..I think that Stevenson Sylvester will see more time next yr at ILB and I think he is a prime candidate for a breakout season.

I don't think you need to rush it that much. And I don't think Worthy is a slam dunk here either. Maybe even a RB?Give coolnerd time. I think he checks it every day.

I PM'd and emailed coolnerd. Hopefully he'll be here soon.

I wonder if the Broncos are considering Tannehill.

And they've got to be considering David Wilson.

If you disagree with my hasty decision to go with Worthy, I can delete those posts. But, I did check with Rob Rang's mock before making the pick.
FWIW all 4 here have Worthyhttp://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/mock-draftsone would think that if they are really embracing Tebow then they should be looking for players that fit that type of offense too. Harvin type players that can do multiple things.

Too late to change the Dolphins pick?

"Several sources" tell the Palm Beach Post the Dolphins are expected to switch to a 4-3 defense in 2012, and that as a result free agent NT Paul Soliai will be allowed to walk.New coach Joe Philbin has yet to even hire a defensive coordinator, but this could be a sign he's not planning to lure an assistant from his former Green Bay. The Packers have run a 3-4 since hiring DC Dom Capers in 2009. Soliai had a disappointing season playing under the franchise tag in 2011, grading out as Pro Football Focus' 38th best defensive tackle.

Maybe a little. ;)
Out of curiosity though who would you take?
Coples. If they are going with a 4-3, they can move Wake to DE and Odrick and Starks to DT, but they are missing another good 4-3 DE. They still need a new right side of the Oline, but switching D's is a big deal and they'd need to get the pieces to allow it.
well the good news is that only one DE is off the board and only 15 picks till you're up again.

1.26. Houston Texans - Alshon Jeffery, WR - South Carolina

Would be a HUGE upgrade to the #2 spot with the potiential to fit the bill as a #1 when AJ retires/moves on.

I have a list of 5 guys for the Giants. I will be checking the draft till around 7pm tonight, than I have a meeting till 10pm. Andy I will PM a list to you for that pick if gets to that time slot and not made a pick.

1.27. New England Patriots - Fletcher Cox, DE/DT - Mississippi St

Coachable, versatile, cerebral. Fits what the Pats like with their DL. Big upside also, I believe. Can play 4-3 and 3-4.

Green Bay (smackdaddies) is on the clock.

I know who I'd have the Texans take...
I say we give everybody an hour to make their pick.
I know you "top 5 pick guys" are getting antsy again, but give us later pick guys some time. We've been patiently waiting.
True enough. The invite is still open for Coolnerd to change the Texans pick.
 Thanks Andy--wasn't trying to single out you/coolnerd. Just asking for a little slack :)

so many choices, so little time. Pretty sure at this point Ted T would be jumping with joy at having so many good pash rushers still on the table. Finishing write up now

you guys deserve some time...Hell you put up with a restart.

Pass Rush, Pass Rush, Pass Rush

Whomever you talk to or read, this is widely acknowledged as the biggest failure on the Packers this year. The DLine was completely unable to get a decent rush, forcing the Packers to either blitz or pray the coverage holds.

At this point you could go DE, DT or OLB and you would improve the team. I see Courtney Upshaw, Whitney Mercilus, Brandon Jenkins, Nick Perry and Andre Brown as all legitimate choices here, and if they were all still available I would not be surprised if TT listened to offers to trade down a couple of picks.

However, for our purposes they are not trading, so that leaves the Packers taking……………………

The Green Bay Packers, with the 28th pick of the 2012 draft, select………

Courtney Upshaw, LB, Alabama!

Upshaw is a versatile player, having done 5, 3 and even 2 point technique at Bama. Excellent pass rusher, even stronger on the run, and still is capable dropping into coverage. Being paired with Clay Mathews on the other side will free up Clay from his double and even triple teams. Expect the Packers, with this pick, to be able to at least double their sack total from 2011.

Like the pick. I'd have gone with Upshaw but I hope Brockers, Upshaw and Hightower are all there on draft day at 24.
