Shark Pool Mock Draft #2 - Let's draft! (1 Viewer)

With the 17 selection the Baltimore Ravens select Zach Martin

Tried to make some moves but couldn't get the value I wanted. Martin brings nice versatility to the line and hopefully opens up some holes for the running game.

1.18. St. L Rams Calvin Pryor S Louisville

This is the player I wanted all along and took a risk trading back 5 spots but in the end it worked out.

ROGER GOODELL ANNOUNCES A TRADE BETWEEN THE MIAMI DOLPHINS AND THE CLEVELAND BROWNS.

1.19 to CLE / 1.26 and 3.07 to Miami

Pick to follow....

With the 19th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, The Cleveland Browns select...

1.19 - Odell Beckham Jr, WR

In a shock move, the Browns trade up to get their (my) #2 rated WR in the draft. Giving Brian Hoyer another elite weapon alongside Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron.

The risk was far too high he wouldn't make it to 1.26 and so the Browns use their draft depth to get their man.

The AFC North just #### their pants.

Wow, thought you were moving up for Bortles. Nicely done.

Edit, had a Brian fart... Carr.

Funny, I was going back and forth with Beckham and Dennard on my pick --

Nice job.
Yup. Chicago almost took him.
I was bitting my nails about the Chi and Balt picks.
Balt was thinking about him both I had a hard time believing the team would take back to back 1st round safeties.

Good pick Jurb26

Having a hard time with this one. He projects as a Guard, but has to learn the position. Proven zone blocker so he might be what they are looking for at ROT. Wonder if he can platoon with Zuttah at C? Tough watching the 3 tackles, Clnton-Dix (Pryor is too much like Elam) and Mosley come off the board.

I'm at a lunch meeting - feel free to make my obvious pick fantasy curse.
With the 12th pick the NY Giants select Anthony Barr, UCLA

I think they might have gone Donald had the Cowboys not made that move, but with him gone Barr is def their guy. He fits the mold of the player they look for in terms of a freakish athlete. He can rush the passer or drop back in coverage. This guy will be a huge addition for the Giants defense.

I think they consider Ebron here, but at the end of the day, Barr is exactly the kind of player the Giants typically like.
Had I had more time, I probably would have taken Mosely. I don't know if Barr is the kind of guy I want to have his hand in the ground in a 4-3 and I think Mosley was the BPA there. Also considered reaching for Zach Martin.

I don't know that the Giants would do that. They just gave Beason a contract for 3/$19m.

Different teams are projecting him differently. Some have him projects as a tackle, others as a guard.

Good point, but Beason's played all 3 linebacker spots in a 3-4 and I don't feel confident in Spencer Paysinger as my #2 linebacker. Ideally, Taylor Lewan falls (in mock draft #1, I traded out of that spot where I could have drafted Lewan - probably a dumb move), I probably should have traded back, but there's always mock draft #3. Maybe I'll be quick enough to get the Eagles next time (Eagles fan that happens to get the Giants in every one of these, lol).

I drafted him projected him at right tackle to replace Oher but if they are happy with other options there he can move inside.

That line just needs to play better.

TRADE:

San Fran gives up their 1.30 and 3.13 for the Cardinals' 1.20

49ers are on the clock!

1.20 - San Francisco 49ers - Brandin Cooks, WR - Oregon St.

I think they love him. They tried to get Edelman so this is the same type of move but I think it's better. Just the kind of speed injection this offense needs.

Plus, I had to make SOME kind of move. The 49ers aren't going to keep all those picks.

Good move to get in front of Philly. I think Philly is looking at Cooks hard as well.
Yep, that was the idea. It was a coin flip between Cooks and another guy. I like how the coin flipped here.

Actually there were several teams that could have taken him before the 49ers pick: Philly, KC, San Diego, New Orleans, Carolina

Like the move, but just I hope they move up for Dennard or Gilbert. I think Boldin, Crabtree, & Davis are sufficient for this year.

That's who I was thinking y ou would want when we were talkin.

Good move.

I think Philly and KC would have both looked hard at him

Probably would have taken Beckham instead, but the two are neck-and-neck talent wise.
He's owned by me already ;)
I would have been ahead of you had I traded with Blackjacks.

Edit: I see how you read that. I was talking about the first sentence, not the one about Philly and KC.

You are the 2 that I was talking two. (and there was a dark horse as well)

You both wanted the same person.

I think the Packers could've gone a bunch of different ways (including the actual pick that was make) and none of those choices would've been wrong.

1.22 - Philadelphia Eagles - Ryan Shazier, OLB - THE Ohio St. University

I would have moved back with SF for extra picks. Now I'll just take the best OLB in the draft. Amazing workout numbers and a amazing performer at OSU.

Versatility is rule #1 now in Philly. He can play OLB in both fronts. He can play ILB if needed. He has the athleticism to play safety. Hell, with 4.4 wheels and great agility he might can play CB. He can rush the pass, drop in coverage and chase down ball carriers. Not much else you can ask for from a defender. Top player on my board with Aaron Donald. Nicee

KC picks Marques Lee WR USC
I like Lee but I don't know about him in KC.

I see him as a deep threat and someone that can stretch the field and I think Reid+ Alex Smith = dink and dunk (ask Dwayne Bowe owners last year.

Ebron here would not be a reach!
