Cool, hadn't realised that. Thanks.I've been updating the OP pretty consistently, it's got all the information on what's going on in this mock draft. Can we get an updated list of picks with who's coming up next please?
Boo... that's who I was hoping would be here for this pick.Tampa Bay selects... Martez Wilson - LB - Illinois50 Allen Bailey, DE Miami
I don't see any quarterback in this draft that will give them a better chance to win right now. They are still rebuilding and it will be at least a couple of years until they can put a good, product on the field. There is no better time to draft a possible franchise QB. I find it crazy that they have not drafted a single QB in any draft since 2003.Idk how the organization feels about him, but I don't see him giving me a better chance to win in the next 2-3 years than garrard. QB is something that needs to be addressed on this team eventually, but I had Smith as my #3wr and I was mystified how he fell this far. There are still a few reasonable choices at QB available in the draft, as well as some vets, so we will see.
Most QBs don't come from a pro ready system. Stanzi from Iowa comes from a pro style system, he might be able to start fairly quickly, but certainly his upside isn't that of a 1st or 2nd round QB. So very few QBs will be ready to start for this team now, and be better than an average NFL veteran. Garrard isn't derek Anderson or Jimmy claussen. He did post a 60%+ completion %, and a QB rating over 90 in his 14 starts this year. He's competent. He's getting old, I agree. But he doesn't tend to sit due to injury. I do believe however, that there were only a couple "franchise" QB types in this draft, and I really havent heard many people trying to push ponder into that tier. If we had a shot at a legit can't miss franchise type, then I would probably go for it. I might also have taken a shot on kaepernicks athleticism. Of the remaining QBs left, I like Dalton the best. I may not see him next round, but since I've drafted for need, it's not like I've wasted my picks. MSW is leaving, and although mike thomas can be relevant, he's extremely tiny. The cupboard is bare at WR, and Torrey Smith is a game breaker. If there was a "franchise QB" to take, I may have. It's likely that ponder will end up a competent NFL starter, but I think pushing him into the "franchise" territory is pushing him a little further than he should go. Especially when i already have a competent veteran starting, who knows the system and the offense very well, and has had some success. Hes a good prospect, but not any kind of "special talent." Ponder wouldn't start on this team for at least half a season, maybe more. Smith will likely start immediately.I don't think falling in love with mid range QB talent too early would benefit a franchise with this many holes.I don't see any quarterback in this draft that will give them a better chance to win right now. They have two second-round draft selections due to the trade with Miami, I showed both second-round picks in order of selection so as to not cause confusion. This shows picks and breaks out first round selections on the top line listed with the + (plus sign) so everyone can see the first round selection and the others were taken in the second round. You have Denver listed at 4 and 14.
Considering I'm picking 3 picks after you, I should refrain from giving input.Hey we were about 3 picks away from mine before I called it a night.Although I need some suggestions because at this point it's hard to pick someone Colts needs are OT, RB, SS and wR
There's been some rummors that the Colts may go RB in the 2nd or 3rd round. On the draft recap post above has some good prospect info links.Hey we were about 3 picks away from mine before I called it a night.Although I need some suggestions because at this point it's hard to pick someone Colts needs are OT, RB, SS and wR
Okay. I was a bit harsh. I can see how you'd think it would take longer than this to get through three picks.:molassesinjanuary:Hey we were about 3 picks away from mine before I called it a night.

He won't be able to play the left side. But he could be a starter for years and years at the right side. I was considering trading up for him for the Cardinals.Okay the next highest rated OT on my list is Jame Carpenter. So with the 2.21 The Indianapolis Colts select OT James Carpenter from Alabama. Projected as a RT the team my use their 2nd overall to find Ryan Diem's replacement. Diem is becoming a liability in the right side of the line. I would've liked to pick a good LT but I haven't done my research on who is the best LT left available. But with carpenter's size and speed I'm sure he can play the leftside as well. No rb or wr warrants a 2nd round pick for indy at the moment
Send it to me.We are 2-3 picks away from the Skins next pick, and I need to head out and may not be back for a bit. Who should I PM my picks to so that they can make it for me. Also, the Skins are always interested in trading down if anyone wants to move up and get someone (assuming it's not someone I want!!).

I've read the Rams are looking for a back to complement SJax, is your thinking that they're maybe looking for more of a replacement? Kind of the same situation in SF, where Gore is in the last year of his contract. They're talking about getting another back in there to complement him, but I think the writing is on the wall that the person may be more of future replacement.I like to get feedback about my picks,Any thoughts about Ryan Williams to the Rams with their 2nd round pick?
Since I mocked Jordan to the Rams myself, I like that pick.I also think Williams makes sense. He'll extend Jackson's career by a year or two and keep him fresher as the season wears on.I'm not buying that they're looking for a WR.I like to get feedback about my picks,Any thoughts about Ryan Williams to the Rams with their 2nd round pick?

I am and think that a RB selection slots in later on their board. Not than Williams is a poor choice, but there's (to me) a more pressing need at WR than RB right here.I'm not buying that they're looking for a WR.
But any WR they take at this point isn't much of an upgrade over what they have - other than the fact the new guy would be healthy.I think they're going to roll with Avery, Clayton, Amendola, and Alexander.I am and think that a RB selection slots in later on their board. And if the above can stay healthy thats not bad (add in Gilyard, not ready to give up on him yet)But any WR they take at this point isn't much of an upgrade over what they have - other than the fact the new guy would be healthy.I think they're going to roll with Avery, Clayton, Amendola, and Alexander.I am and think that a RB selection slots in later on their board. I was so hoping he would be there at pick 2.30, I'm realizing the bears should have traded back from pick 29 when there were no tackles of value on both sides of the ball at that spot other than Austin (Too many character issues for the bears to take in the 1st). Early 2nd we could have grabbed interior line man like Hudson, or Martez Wilson who the would groom for the MLB spot. Ayers was taken because it seemed at the time to be the BPA, and could fill the open spot at the SLB, really starting the second guess the BPA for Ayers after having done more research. With selection 2.22 the Philadelphia Eagles select Rodney Hudson, OG FSUDespite the clear need for a talent upgrade on the OL, I certainly did not go into this draft intending to pick 2 OL with the first 2 picks. The draft easily could have gone defense/defense with the first 2 picks as I really wanted Corey Liuget in the first and Brooks Reed in the second only to miss out on both by a pick or 2. That being said, I'm very pleased to have added Solder and Hudson to the OL mix. Hudson is a leader type that can play right away at OG with the potential of moving to C in a year or two and leading the OL for the next 10 yrs. If this played out in the real world, I would love to see what these guys could do under the tutelage of Howard Mudd. The only other serious option for this pick Ras-I Dowling but his injuries are a concern and I like to take a sure thing with early selections. Defense hasn't been addressed via the draft but I expect FA additions on that side of the ball if the draft plays out like this.1.23 Nate Solder, OT COL2.22 Rodney Hudson, OG FSU
Probably, but that is an underwhelming bunch and a incoming WR does not have a high bar to exceed to get significant snaps.'Andy Dufresne said:But any WR they take at this point isn't much of an upgrade over what they have - other than the fact the new guy would be healthy.I think they're going to roll with Avery, Clayton, Amendola, and Alexander.

Too early to go RB in my opinion. They've been working out a lot of RB's but I think the demise of SJax is being predicted a little too soon. I think they will go with someone small and shifty in the later rounds to be a complement. They've supposedly looked at/worked out more than a half a dozen different RB's so they will definitely be drafting one at some point, just a matter of how high.'Blackjacks said:I like to get feedback about my picks,Any thoughts about Ryan Williams to the Rams with their 2nd round pick?

You could be right but I watched every game of the Rams last year and they were missing explosion type players. If I gopt Julio in the first round this probably wouldnt be the pick but going defense in the first put me very happily going after Williams.I also think that at best Jackson has 2 years left in the NFL as a starter-good player. With only a 2nd yr qb, as good as he looked, you still need to be able to run the ball. Like I stated this will help Steven prolong his career and stay healthier.I am nopt taking anything anyway from Jackson. That guy plays as hard as anyone but I saw alot of 3 yards and a cloud of dirt last year. I think Williams would help that change.Just my 2 cents though, thanks for the feedbackToo early to go RB in my opinion. Quiz, Hunter, Taiwan, or White can make good complimentary back. But SJax is also on the downside of his career. So I think Williams make sense as he is being groomed for the eventual feature role, while right now he is spelling Jax. And the Williams pick make sense, because he may not be durable, and splitting carry with Jax now will help him become a great back in the near future.I can see them grabbing Quiz, or Kendal Hunter, if either slip to the 4th or 5th round.Too early to go RB in my opinion. I still don't show any response from you? Are you accepting the trade? If so, I'll post the trade and make my pick.sorry guys, I messed up. I have been knee deep in grease this afternoon fixing my wifes car.I thought I sent chinawildman a response to his trade offer, but I actually sent it to jetmaxx.I resent to chinawildman just now.I thought that everything would have been moving forward.Sorry again.

The McDaniels offense is about spreading it out. Amendola mirrors Welker and a healthy Alexander is your Moss (no I am not comparing the two but I am talking about how they will fill in the offense. Donnie Avery could be exceptional with Bradford's accuracy and Clayton looked great early on last year. Unless they get Julio Jones they will not draft a wr in the first 3 rounds. Actually there is still 1 WR we are looking at with our next pick.
to Andy and Blackjacks. I'd be on board with taking Julio Jones in the first round, but not a complementary receiver in round 2. I've been seeing a certain Miami receiver in that spot a lot, and it makes me cringe.I like the Ryan Williams pick. You could argue that there will still be interesting RB prospects on the board in rounds 3-4, but Williams was probably the best value on the board (or one of them).
