despite what the voiceover said, I didn't take it as a legit offer.

However, even if it was legit, the valuation of their company was $10 million. So $30 million while higher than today's valuation its not what they expect the value to be even in the short term. They also have other investors, I doubt they could sell the company without their agreement.

They knew their business could be much more rucrative than that.

So as far as I can tell, "Coffee Meets Bagel" is either the worst or best idea in the history of online dating.

It completely takes away the two best and most convenient parts of online dating....

- It limits you to "friends of friends"

- It limits you to one person a day

The whole point of something like tinder is that a new person is literally just one swipe away. How in the world is anyone EVER going to find a date on that thing.

- First of all, a "dateable" person (and lets face it, this is MAYBE 10% of the population, and that's a stretch) has to sign off for this oddly named site that nobody has heard of

- Then they have to be a friend of a friend

- Then they have to pop up as your once a day person

- Then you have to find them attractive

- AND they have to find you attractive

- AND you have to not screw it up by saying something creepy (assuming all of the above works out)

Hell, their model even gets rid of the opportunity for funny but not super good looking guys to pique a girl's interest with an initial clever message.

As far as I can tell, the entire site is set up to make it basically impossible to meet someone. I guess maybe that's the point. Maybe they're assuming that everyone will realize the same thing and make an initial small purchase of premium features in hopes of something better before they go back to tinder.

And their business plan was basically throw millions and millions into advertising because we're losing money hand over fist.

I thought the doorman delivery ap idea was pretty good. However, nowadays, they'll leave basically anything I order on my porch anyway (and I live in a nice area, so I've never had a problem with theft)

I was on Match.com for one year. I met 70 women in person for at least one date (just coffee or a drink). Most didn't make the cut for a second date.

And for the most part, the women were on there for the same reason as the men.

I don't think this is a $30-million-plus idea.

Well ST's on here now... and they are cool but I don't get the big hoopla, and all 5 sharks wanting to be a part of it. I'm guessing the majority of sales are in Asia as the book opens up to look like a handheld japanese fan.

The lights were really cool but I was struggling to see any practical use. It's cool that the portable version is also a USB charger, but those exist already. Cool item for camping, I guess.

Soapsox- Cute concept but nuts on the valuation. I think they were stupid to either not go with DJ with the 33.3% for 260,000 or Lori and Robert's offer to buy it all at 1 mil. At the end one guy said he wouldn't sell it for $5 million. Uh, your side kick there just said how big of a product developer he is and is great at it, so sell the damn thing and go on to the next project. Stupid imo.

Dog carrier "fashion" strap: I can't believe DJ gave her a deal. Her yapping gave me a big headache. I'm pretty sure there's something like it out there so didn't see the wow factor in it.

I thought last nights episode on CNBC was pretty good. It was just a recap / update episode of old deals.

Takeaways (from memory so some of these figures may be wrong):

* #1 most successful deal on any season was the Scrub Daddy deal that Lori did. Sounded like they are at about $16m per year now and growing. Lori's original investment was $200k for 25%

* Cuban has more money than all the other sharks combined - said Robert

* Lori also hit a home run with the Reader Rest eyeglasses thingy that Kevin thought she was crazy for investing in

* They all hated the Coppa Wine guy who creats single glass wine to be sold in stores. The guy was on the show twice and never made a deal. They made it sound like the guy is doing +30m a year now in wine sales

I can't remember which deal it was, but one of the Cuban / Kevin combined deals went belly up within 6 months. The company basically imploded.
