Shark Tank on ABC (1 Viewer)

The floating cup thing is sort of idiotic but we go to a 4th of July pool party every year and my wife always wants to bring a gift. I could see buying four of these as opposed to a couple of bottles of wine or a few sixes of beer...these things would actually get used

I'm picturing any all inclusive resort where there are swim up bars. To not have to hold your drink as your floating in the pool would be nice. I'd even buy it at the resort if it wasn't complimentary.

A kid I used to know got a deal with Cuban for Nuts N More. Apparently they are doing well. D is always wearing orange headbands fwiw.

Yeah, my wife went to Cranston West with him and just saw him at their high school reunion. Of course, being Cranston a massive fight broke

out.

I'm assuming his look is schtick.

All season Daymond and Lori have been getting pissy at each other, all to be fair it is mostly Daymond taking cheap shots at Lori for being nothing more than a talentless QVC hawk. I do think that Lori might bring less to the table in terms of manufacturing and branding but she has a good viable option for selling a lot of these products whether it is on QVC or at BB&B or Target.

Well it looks like it is finally coming to a head next week with a big battle brewing

The other thing is that Lori and Robert have been getting pretty flirty recently. I'd venture to guess that there might be some action in the tank

So Robert is jumping the (other) shark?

. Its an interesting idea, but how many times is drinking in a pool a huge problem? It will sell some, but I can't picture it being huge or remotely big. Even at the low valuation, it seemed like a complete gimmick/ party trick.

This is not a million dollar idea. Well maybe a million dollar but not multiple millions of dollars but there are items out there that are just gifts and if they hit, they can sell a ton. Like that snuggie blanket with arms, an iced beer mug or any of the thousands of golf gadgets out there. This might never be something you buy yourself but it could be something that you buy for somebody else

My BIL was at a beer festival last weekend and met someone who tried to get onto the Tank with an iced beer-pong table.

Said he got to the second which I assume is like the rounds in front of the producers to weed out mediocre ideas like they do on Idol. They of course purposely let some terrible ideas through to get some laughs

Well played

I think Lori is worthless. Any of the other sharks could easily get a product on QVC and have someone hawk their wares. I'm not super sure what Robert brings to the table, either. Barbara, Mark, and Kevin should imo be on every episode. They're the most active and/or the most entertaining. Rotate the others.

Interesting. My favorites are Cubes, Mr. Wonderful, and Daymond.

Babs is my least favorite. I wouldn't mind rotating in other celebs (a la Jeff Foxworthy) in her chair each week.

Cuban and O'Leary must never leave the show or be missing on an epi. Just like Shelton and Levine must never leave The Voice. Next is DJ as a fav. Lori I could care less about, and Babs and Robert I'm on the fence about. But they all bring a personality (except Lori) that makes the interaction amongst themselves funnier.

Love this show, but I wish the producers would ban all food items. It's always so hokey. OH WOW THIS COOKIE IS DELICIOUS DO YOU HAVE A PATENT? NO? OK I'M OUT

might be true but she seems to have a certain persona which works with people (mostly women)... she doesn't bring a lot to the table but she does accept more offers than just about anybody.. Robert goes a half a season without so much as an offer.

It seems Barbara will regularly jump on food items, and she seems to know her stuff when it comes to packaging/marketing it as well. Agree with Righetti that Robert doesn't seem to bring much. Seems he rarely makes offers, and when he does someone else makes a better one. Doesn't bring humor or any other interesting insight.

I want to crane kick Barbara when she is involved in any of those "update" snippets. So, gd fake and annoying.

I really wish they'd do an episode with nothing but the failures they invested in. Explain what went wrong.

Cuban -- "I don't know what I was thinking investing in a fantasy football leagues website. The entrepreneur stole all the money, got hooked on meth, and now lives in a van down by the river."

would be great but these guys all have huge egos that won't allow for that..

there was one mention by Barb about that cake business that she wound up spending much more money and much more time. It was heralded as a success story as an update but at one point she sort of spilled the beans

In one of the end of the season interviews with tv guide, Cuban and O'Leary said the worst fail for them was Toygaroo. The company went bankrupt not long after they took it on.

IMO Mark Cuban is by far the worst of them all.
And it isn't even close.

I'd love it if a entrepreneur would just take a deal before listening to his offer. It seems like very episode he waits until last for the other sharks to call him out and he sits there with that dumb grin. Or he will be first to offer and throws out the dumb line, "you need to decide right now". AKA...I know my offer is horrible and another shark will give you a better deal.

That happened like a week ago. I don't remember the product/business but the lady took Loris deal without even listening to Mark, who was about to make an offer.

I saw that one. Everyone said the entrepreneur did the right thing.

Good for them. He's such a D-bag.

Or during their presentation he'll flip out and yell out, " I'm OUT". Totally throws off the presenter and they need to scramble back to regain their memorized line. At least wait until they are done and have some class.

Guys, it's a TV show. It's entertainment. Cuban is polarizing.

What, you want five Barbaras up there?

I've never seen this. I've always seen him give his reasons or explanation why he's out.

Nothing tops Lori's meltdown a couple weeks ago and almost ##### fight with Babs... as mentioned a couple or so pages back. Cuban is smart as hell and that's why he's a billionaire, not a millionaire. Plus I agree, for tv I'm sure he's playing it up to keep the entertainment factor going. O'Leary can be just as bad, in addition to being funny, and that's part of what makes the show. Otherwise it would be pretty boring unless you are a real die hard biz person.

Anyone who comes on with a dubious health aid (like the magnet bracelet), he's out!

Wasn't into the products at all this week

The sandals seemed alright but I'm not a chick so no idea if they would sell

The gold bucket for $99 plus shipping is ridiculous. No idea why Robert took it

The sportsbra was sort of interesting, not sure if it's something anybody would pay twice as much as another sportsbra for though (my wife says they usually run about $15-30)

The last chick was like a Chihuahua on speed

Nothing more annoying then when someone comes in with absolutely no intention of budging off their original request.

You've got a do it yourself t-shirt business sweetheart. Maybe show a LITTLE flexibility here.

Yeah, and Cuban's response to her at the end had me confused. He usually calls people out on that, and he seemed to halfway through. But then she didn't seem to do anything that would have earned the respect that he showed her as she left.

I think he was applauding her decision to turn down a loan in exchange for equity, rather than her unwillingness to budge on the valuation.
