Alot of SA trade talk has heated up with his projected return in Week #7. With what looks to be a pretty decent schedule for him the rest of the way, what is his value or trades that have happened in the last week?

Alexander's Schedule:

Week#7: MIN 4th Best Run Defense

Week#8: @ KC 18th :)

Week#9: OAK 29th :D

Week#10: STL 20th :D

Week#11: GB 15th :)

Week#12: @SF 24th :D

GBWeek#13: @ DEN 17th :)

Week#14: @ ARZ 22nd :D

Week#15: SF 24th :D

Week#16: SD 1st (Superbowl

Personally i own Shaun, and i won't consider any offers that doesn't include a top 10 back. If Alexander owners haven't traded him yet, i doubt they will now.

Personally I think Shawn is done for this year or at best he'll play but not be a worthy starting fantasy back.

What gives you this idea.. Sound like Seattle is expecting him backby the 22nd game against Minnesota..You heard different or just a gut feeling it is much worse than expected...

He didn't look good when he was healthy. The loss of Hutchinson at guard was a bigger deal than I thought. He definitely doesn't have the holes to run threw that he did last year. They aren't going to be playing with the lead as much this year, so he'll be getting less carries. Fat new contract, may mean not as much drive in him.

He will still be decent, but I traded him for T. Bell this week for the reasons above!

He was only healthy for one game so I'm not sure that's enough to base an opinion on.

Just wondering if anyone has heard if Shaun Alexander will be playing today.. I had read that he could be activated and start at gametime today.

Yeah I've been wondering the same but I don't think we'll hear anything until after noon.
Where did you guys hear this? I haven't seen anything other than Holmgren saying it's great that he's running, but it'll be Week 9 for Alexander's return.

I read it on this site. It was an opinion from Clayton and David --quote belowOpinion (Clayton and David say upgrade him): He was pleading his case to play this week, but was held out. But we fully expect he will hit the field this week. Maurice Morris has been awful in relief and Alexander will be able to protect unproven Seneca Wallace better. Look for the Seahawks to ride Alexander a lot going forward until they get Hasselbeck back

Thanks for the quote. I didn't see that somehow.

It would be Christmas come early for me and other Alexander owners if he played today.

If the FBG's said that, they didn't mean it enough for week 8. Their most recent projections don't back it up, as they have SA not getting any rushing attempts.

I think they are talking about week 8 because in their quote it says "they fully expect him to hit the field THIS WEEK"

I'm a Seattle homer, and there's been little to zero talk of him playing this week. All indicators point to next week, and that is still not 100%.

Bump for any updates on a week 9 return. Sounded likely, but I would assume he'd have to be practicing early in the week to start on Sunday

This is the latest I've read:

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander (foot) told FOX NFL Sunday he will get an MRI on his foot Monday, Oct. 30 and will practice this week as long as the MRI does not show anything severe. Alexander said, "I'll be back in full practice by Wednesday (Nov. 1) and I'll go next week. I ran on a treadmill this week and it felt fine. I've felt fine for a while. My conditioning is fine — I never let myself get out of good shape. As long as the MRI doesn't show anything drastic I'll be back this week."

Hawks' Alexander will sit out at least one more game

Seattle Times staff reporter

Shaun Alexander is not expected to play against Oakland next Monday, coach Mike Holmgren said today.

Holmgren said last week he hoped Alexander would be back for the Raiders, but the coach said that doctors have not cleared him to return.

Alexander has missed four games because of a cracked bone in his left foot, and Seattle has gone 2-2 in those games. The Seahawks have rushed for 302 yards in those four games, averaging 3.5 yards per carry. Maurice Morris started four games in place of Alexander, and rushed for 183 yards in those games.

The Seahawks rushed for 47 yards in Sunday's loss to Kansas City and didn't sustain a drive longer than 1:49 in the second half.

Alexander was the league's MVP last year when he set the NFL's single-season record for touchdowns. He suffered a bone bruise in the season-opening game in Detroit, and after the third game the injury had worsened. Tests detected what was diagnosed as a non-displaced fracture in the fourth metatarsal, meaning a crack.

The injury has improved, Holmgren said, but the doctors don't feel it has healed sufficiently for him to return. Alexander did some running last week, but he did not make cuts.

Mike Holmgren just said on the NFL Network during his press conference.

“It doesn’t look like we are going to get Shaun Back this week. He had pictures taken today. The doctors, the medical people are reluctant to give me the green light on Shaun after what we saw in the pictures. He is getting better. He’s feeling better. And his crack has healed a bunch but they were not ready to hand him over to me so to speak this week. It appears as it will be another week.”

No Link but I'm sure one will be comming soon.

He was supposed to go in for another MRI today. Guess the results weren't promising. Week 10 is more than likely in jeopardy as well then.

And another week, and another week, and another week. Gone from a couple weeks to half the season.
And the worst part is that MoMo has not done much in his stead. Maybe against Oakland MoMo can do something....
He's terrible. Absolutely terrible.
to be fair to MoMo - SA didn't do much behind that line before he got hurt either. But point taken - before SA went down I think a lot of people saw him as a RB2 bordering on a RB1 given the opportunity - now I think you have to say he is a RB2 bordering on an RB3 (NFL - not fantasy).

Shaun was actually hurt in week 1 from what I remember reading. Part of his inneffectiveness may have been his injury and not all of it his O line.

Just one man's opinion....but...had the Rams won at San Diego yesterday, I'm betting that the walrus would have advanced a different story.

Disagree. If it's healed it's healed. And you can see whether it's healed or not on an MRI. It's obviously not fusing as quickly as they had hoped.

Atleast we won't have to hear from the 'MoMo Wagon' anymore about how ShAlex is soft and Morris just needs the opportunity. Put that puppy to rest.

This reminds me of Michael Vick. We expected him to be back soon, and each week they kept putting it off until there was almost no season left. I think it's time to cut bait on Mr. Alexander.

Man this is just great. At 3-5, Alexander coming back this week might have been my last gasp at any chance. Last year I lose Deuce and this year it's Alexander. Man, I can't catch a break....

Pointless to trade him at this point... His value is basically worthless until he's back on the field, which at this point is a major question mark. He may not come back at all the way it's looking.

Sounds pretty damn smart.

Next week will be week 6 of healing.

A normal person is diagnosed at 6 to 8 weeks on a non weight bearing bone in the foot.

If he misses two more games, that puts him at week 8 as a pro athlete with all the best medical attention and also could coincide with Hasslebacks possible return. And with very little risk, at least when compared to bringing him back early.

Good point. Why would they bring him back at home against the Raiders, anyway? This team is still going to the playoffs, and the only thing that really kills them, is Alexander coming back too early. And the way Morris has looked, that makes even more sense now. Any shot at getting back to the Superbowl rests in that foot being FULLY healed.

Luckily, I have survived without him thanks to the rest of my squad and have a 5-3 record.

I'll gladly take one more week without him if it means full health upon his return.

From a NFL viewpoint....it makes sense for Seatle, in light of MoMo's poor showings, to get Alexander and Hasselbeck back FULLY and make a playoff push. With Oak coming to town and then St Louis, they can try to keep pace with St Louis without gambling the health of their two biggest offensive stars. With the exception of week 13 and 16, Seattle should roll over the competetion with a healthy Hasselsmack and Alexander

Maybe all the talk about how good Morris can be if given a chance will finally abate.
I agree he has been poor filling in for Alexander, but START him @ home against Oak!He'll be pumped to perform in front of the home team crowd and Oak's rush DEF is their weakness.

80 rushing 30 and a TD receiving. The HYPE returns just in time for Alexander to resume his spot!

How stupid would Holgren have looked if he didn't resign Alexander after hyping MoMo?
