*** SHAUN ALEXANDER THREAD *** (1 Viewer)

Geez, guys. i could find the Alexander thread on the baord and am thinking about making a make-or-break trade for him. Desperate for info/opinions on if/when/how he comes back. Do we need to make a federal case out of me not finding the orginal thread?

I guess you missed "*** SHAUN ALEXANDER THREAD *** " directly under yours
What's your point? He said he did a search and could not find the thread.
I think his point is that if he really did a search on Alexander threads, he would have found that one. Personally, I think it's a good point.....
So are you saying that rawdog is a liar?
Maybe rawdog just isn't very proficient at using the search function?
We're a bunch of frustrated SA owners who may turn out to be the "Bust of The Year" and you guys are worried about search functions. :hot:
Personally I could care less about a board members search function capabilities. I just saw Yitbos69 throwing out the liar thing at fred_1_15301 & was only trying to play peacemaker before it got into some kind of flame war.

Ugh... Well, gonna have to hope Westbrrok & Gore can get it done for me as I am now placing SA into the "expect absolutely nothing from him" category....

Anybody remember any players, specifically RB's, who had this type of injury and how long it took them to come back and how well they played?

Just trying to gauge how Shaun Alexander Shaun Alexander will be when he comes back.

(KFFL) Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander (foot) underwent X-rays Monday, Oct. 31, on his injured foot. The tests showed Alexander's foot was not healing the way the team expected it to and was only 70 percent healed. Alexander sent the pictures to a foot specialist in Dr. James Andrews' office for a second look. Both the Specialist and the Seahawks told Alexander it would be all right if he begins running in a straight line this week, but he has not been cleared to begin cutting on that foot. Alexander is scheduled to undergo another X-ray earlier this week to see if he could return to practice.

Yea. Now we need some sort of "Tool Filter" or "####### filter". The ingore feature just doesn't seem to cut it most of the time.

From cbssportsline:

According to FOX Sports, Seattle RB Shaun Alexander is not close to returning. Two weeks ago Shaun Alexander said that as long as this past Monday's x-rays showed the crack in his foot had healed he would start Monday night. His head coach Mike Holmgren was even more optimistic, pretty sure that the pics would show that he was healthy and ready to roll. But according to sources, Monday's tests showed that Alexander's crack had not only not healed, it wasn't even healing the way the team had expected it to. Alexander's pictures showed that it was not healing that way and was only 70 percent healed at that time. In addition, Alexander sent the medical pictures down to a foot specialist in Dr. James Andrews office in Birmingham for a second look. After the look, however, both the specialist and the Seahawks told Alexander it will be all right if he begins running in a straight line this week. They had not, as of Sunday morning, cleared him to begin cutting on that foot. He is slated to take another x-ray either Monday or Tuesday to see if the foot had healed more and if he could return to practice. The team has no idea when exactly he'll be fully cleared to practice. It could be Monday or Tuesday, could be a week, could be two weeks, could be more. Whenever the pictures show the crack has completely healed, he'll be able to return.

As a Seahawks fan and an Alexander owner in one league, i guess this is good news compared to everything else that's going around. Been a tough year.

Mike Holmgren told Peter King that his "gut feeling" is that Shaun Alexander will be ready to play against the Rams.

Holmgren sounds like he's getting annoyed at the situation. "It's been going on seven weeks with Shaun. Last week, he's jumping up and down, feeling good, no pain, but he couldn't get clearance," Holmgren said.

why the f0ck is he always jumping around  get healthy man, we need ya...

Alexander said in an interview last night during Monday night football that the MRI results were the best yet and showed healing on the outside.

He is referring to the outside of the bone. The bone has been healing from inside out, thus the discouragement last week when the crack was still visible.

He will undergo another test this morning and we should know if he's cleared this afternnon.

Great news...please post any updates as you hear them...thanks...

RB Shaun Alexander is scheduled to have a CT scan taken of his cracked foot Tuesday.

Coach Mike Holmgren said team doctors must determine that Alexander's foot is completely healed before clearing him to play. He should reveal the results Tuesday afternoon.

Sorry, Walrus, I mean Holmgrem, bones are no match for the Madden Curse. ;) Coo-coo-kee-choo.

War Eagle, et al.

I just saw this on fanball.com, it indicates the opposite, namely that it looks like Alexander won't play. I'm sure Hasselbeck and Alexander will be back Week 11 however to trounce my 49ers.

Seahawks: Alexander to miss another game?

The News

Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren told Seattle radio station KIRO on Tuesday that he has a feeling Shaun Alexander will miss one more game because of his broken foot, according to the Seattle Times. "That's just the feeling I get," Holmgren told the station.

Our View

Holmgren told the station that is the vibe he is getting from team doctors. Alexander had more tests done on his foot Monday and we'll know more about the situation later today.

Well, we have 2 sources which are directly conflicting with each other and Alexander himself being positive.Who knows....but we will this afternoon.

I'm barely holding on to a playoff spot without him, but as long as he's back healthy for the playoffs I don't care. Don't come back a week early and ruin the rest of your season

This may be a tangeant but it might be worth mentioning. Since this injury is taking longer than originally expected, has anyone asked Shaun if he is losing faith in the power of prayer? Apparenlty he was ready to miss zero time becuase o fhte power of prayer. Now that the injury is still healing slow, no mention of the devine intervention. Just a little curious, that's all.

Personally I think Shawn is done for this year or at best he'll play but not be a worthy starting fantasy back.
What gives you this idea.. Sound like Seattle is expecting him backby the 22nd game against Minnesota..You heard different or just a gut feeling it is much worse than expected...
 Still out AND for another week. It never makes sense to say your stud RB will be out the whole season or if he comes back will be ineffective. I still stand by my statement, he's done for the year but if he does come back people will start him and get burned.

Shaun Alexander-RB- Seahawks Nov. 7 - 1:59 pm et

Coach Mike Holmgren admitted on his radio show Tuesday that Shaun Alexander will likely miss another game.

He hasn't seen the results of Alexander's most recent tests, but the "vibe" from doctors indicate Alexander will miss another game. "That's just the feeling I get," Holmgren said. We've got some bad vibes that Alexander won't return in time to save most of his fantasy owner's playoff hopes.

The question is if and when Alexander comes back how effective will he be? I seriously think Seattle is in trouble. I doubt Alexander will be able to handle 20+ carries a game. Even when he was healthy, Alexander just was not himself. Hasselback will have to carry this team if they have a chance. Now is the time to get some value for Alexander!!

Why?

I got Ronnie Brown for him last week so I know there's interest. I traded him to a guy who is very likely to make the playoffs, where I was 3-5 and could not afford to wait. If you look for teams w/ better records and mention the cake schedule, there's a very good chance they'll bite

I believe it was an x-ray, not an MRI. He did not sound confident to me that he would be cleared to play.

ESPN News is reporting that they are still awaiting the results of his MRI!! WTF Holmgren just yesterday he seemed confident that SA might play this week!! I was doing great in my league until SA went down then Fitz. I need you guys to at least get me a playoff spot now!! :banned:

Where would you guys move SA against his current dynasty ranking if you don't consider this year into the equation? This would be a good excercise for those of us who may not make the playoffs anyway now.

Sounds like the seahawks are keeping him on ice until the playoffs...ease him back in the last few games of the season...he wont be worth crap for FF playoffs. I own him in 1 league and will now try to move him.

I just offered the guy who owns him in my second league R.Johnson and am now going to retract that trade offer....this does not look promising by a loooong shot.

Great catch

tough question. He'll be 30 at the start of next year with probably only 2 years left in the tank. I'd put him in the 8-10 range among RBs.

Anyone watch the monday night game? Is it a sign that the o-line is starting to improve as MoMo ran for 130 yards against oakland? Might be a glimmer of light in this otherwise dark thread.

I'll have to seriously consider trading whomever is on the cover of the next "Madden" game. Bastage!
