Lions | Bodiford unfazed by practicing with first-team offense Published Wed Aug 9 9:17:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli said that WR Shaun Bodiford does not seem to be affected by practicing with the first-team offense. "He just goes fast," said Marinelli. "I see him out here at night running around in the indoor facility, just flying around. For whatever reason, it doesn't seem to affect him."

Any info

Does anyone else picture a conversation between Kitna and McCown that goes something like "I have no idea who is lining up wide. I just throw it to the guy that has my color jersey on."

Picture this one.

Kitna last year - practicing with CJ and Housh.

McCown last year - practicing with Boldin and Fitz.

I think both have rosters on their one wrist and plays on the other.

I can't see how M Williams and Rogers wont take those spots come regular season. This is similar to Hank Baskett frenzy in Philly. Only difference is that Detroit has other viable recievers, just trying to motivate them, and Pilly doesn't

Drummond is making that roster for special teams ...

I think M williams would be a perfect slot reciever. He is big and should have no problem going over the middle. Fill the void that Pollard is getting too old to fill.

While I do believe that Rogers will turn itt around THIS YEAR.... BMW needs a change of scenery and veteran receivers to actually do something IMO.

A team like Denver, Tampa, NYG or Pittsburgh would do him well.

I'm thinking more along the lines of "Just throw it to #11"

I think it's time for Mike Williams to make the switch to TE. He's around 230, but at 6'5", I imagine he could put on 20 pounds fairly easily. With time, given his height, he should be able to get up to 250 without losing too much athleticism.

It would be worth a try. If Williams can't do any better than 3rd team, the Lions would be fools not to give it a shot, IMO.

There were a few NFL people who thought that his body was literally too big for a WR during pre-draft talk and that staying at 230 or whatever the Lions want him at is difficult. The problem will be can he do the other things, blocking etc that a TE is required to do.

Cowher would kill him. Gruden would injure him. Shanny would love him.
Awesome. :lmao:

I think its all or nothing for Rogers. If they keep him around, I think it will be because they will move him to the #2. His speed and skills in a Martz offense is a perfect fit (actually much better fit than Roy Will is). If he's too screwed up then they'll cut him.
