SHAWN WIEBER booted me out of his league for missing 1 week of submitt (1 Viewer)

shawns threw me out of one of his leagues because he required homework every week and i could not get past algebra it was hard brohans and this was back in the day so we were using slide rules and he would always put me in detention because i would hit the girl in front of me with my slide rule but the truth is brohans that she was cute and i just wanted her to turn around and look at me so that i could make some time with her well one day it ends up i am cruising downtown and bam there she is ends up she was from another town and just moved in well she would not give me the time of day so i was revving up my engine pretty good to try and get her attention and bam i blow a ring and its smoke show central like a cloud just came down and we were all in it except that it smelled like burning oil because guess what that is what it was well let me just say that i did not hit her with the slide rule again but then she turned around and said that was a nice magic trick you did on friday disappearing in a cloud of smoke and we laughed but it did not work out because she was in to chevys and i was always a mopar man back then so take that to the bank brohans

I'm in another league with a couple owners who are in the league in question. I'm not going to air some random league's dirty laundry, but suffice to say that the not setting of the lineup was more the "final straw" than it was a first time offense.

Frankly, I'd be more sympathetic if you hadn't gotten all your money back, including this year's dues. Not sure what the big deal is. Go build another magic football team somewhere else. Your commissioner may be a little zealous, but him not taking your $ puts him in pretty good company.
I saw that the OP did not participate in the league "Survivor Pool" either....

I know Shawn. His league is very much his version of my league. I can say with 100% certainty that both leagues require a higher level of activity out of their owners so all those taking shots at that aspect of his league (which is obviously your right) are exactly the type of people we try to keep out of the league. The means we go to to ensure we get the type of owners we want may seem excessive to outsiders but it also ensures we don't deal with lazy slouches either.

To the OP...you knew the rules when you joined. I know without asking that Shawn didn't change those rules during a season so whether it was because your phone sucks, your forgot to hit submit on your lineup and subsequentally check to see your lineup was in fact in place, you were high or drunk or anything in between....bottom line is you dropped the ball and you have to pay the price.

I am surprised removal from the league is his policy in that spot but it is I guess. If he said he was returning your money to you then I can assure you that he will be if he hasn't already done so.

People either want an extreme league like that or they don't....bashing a guy for wanting more than what most leagues offer or for carrying out the rules clearly outlined in the bylaws makes you look like the ****.

Lol extreme leagues.
Call it whatever you want...point is it requires more than 7/12 of the ownership to be competent and give a damn. Winning MOST leagues is about as big of an accomplishment as winning a home run derby against 4 year olds. So many people these days play in 20 leagues like that, win 5 of them and think they did well. It's kinda sad.

Extreme leagues, nerd leagues, whatever....much more fun/rewarding to me.

As long as you enjoy what you do and the rules are followed...I don't see a problem.

From what I've read I agree that the commish had the right to kick him out of the league, but not before the season was over. That assumes his team was a contender which I'm not actually convinced about.

Yeah, I'm in only three leagues, and I'd only consider one of them "extreme". It's probably my favorite.

lmao @ extreme fantasy football leagues aka the "get a life" league.
Should we seriously compare our life accomplishments? It's the middle of the day on Wednesday and you are posting at FBG just like me (oh the shame)....I don't know how you find the time between saving lives, trying cases and raising your fifteen kids....what people choose to be interested in is their business. Fantasy football is my hobby and I know Shawn is like that too. Is it bad that we design our leagues in a way to attract like-minded folks to play and keep those like yourself out? I think we do everyone a favor...we don't waste our time on you and we don't try to take someone who isn't all that interested and conform them to our ideals. The OP joined a league he couldn't keep up with...he failed...they punted him....the end. The bylaws accomplished what they set out to do and Shawn carried out those bylaws as they were stated.

Nearly 8,500 posts on this site tells me that if one of us needs to get a life it may just be you sir. I cruise this site from time to time and not much in the way of progress is made on any topic (especially in this section) so for you to be so heavily invested here tells me that you should hope to some day find a league that does enough for you to just waste away your day arguing over nonsense here with strangers that don't give a spit about your opinion anyway. Oh look at me...being hypocritical...my bad...I should run and go manage my "get a life" league.

Good day!

the only thing that is a given at this point is that SWC must replace the OP in that league....

:epic:

While I can appreciate a guy who likes to run a serious league and have set rules, the smart (and classy) move here would have been a warning email before throwing the OP out of the league. If the OP was a good owner before this transgression (which sounds like he was), then he should have been afforded a chance to explain himself. There's a fine line between running a tight ship and being a dictator on an ego trip.

Has the commish had a chance to state his case? The guy is being called out by name on one of the largest FF forums on the web. Pretty weak, IMO, that should be reserved for commish who cheat or steal. Doesn't seem to be the either.

Someone posted that the commish was present in the thread, but he never posted. Others have come to his defense pretty strongly, though.

Agreed with the warning e-mail notion. There could also be a "same as last week" lineup option that would seem to make sense and avoid problems. Lineups just roll over on CBS, so maybe it's a software issue. That part seems weird, one very well might have the same lineup every week once byes are over.

Shawn Wieber's dad here....

Let me set the story straight. The O.P here has weaved a fine tale, but in the end it is all a pack of lies. Shawnie runs a tight ship. I taught him the ways of fantasy football dominance when he was a wee lad. That includes putting a lineup in every week, sending a weekly ranking sheet of all players for Shawn to inspect, playing two Madden simulations with different rosters on XBox live to see benefits of different combinations, and mowing Shawn's lawn once a month. The facts are that O.P was slacking on the XBox live and he got yelled at by Shawn. You have to understand that when Shawn yells, he farts a lot so it may have stunk up O.Ps living room when he went over to yell at him. This led him to not mow Shawnie's lawn during prime leaf season, so Shawn had to go back over, punch O.P's 14 year old son in the face, and then pooped in his fruit bowl. Obviously, O.P didn't like this, so he didn't set his lineup that week. That was the last straw. Shawn sent the email, covering up all of the sadistic hazing he subjected the O.P to, and kicked him out formally. The only reason he let O.P keep the money was because that was the amount for the deductible on his son's doctor bill, otherwise the O.P would have been out of luck. The bottom line is that if you are going to play hardcore ffootball, you should be ready to do anything to stay in the league. That is the way young Shawn was raised. He is graduating middle school this May, so he needs to do things the right way!

HARD CORE BRO!

I am all for making sure lineups are being done. I do agree there is ZERO excuse for not fielding a complete lineup.

But the commish needs to dial it down a notch and this self important hard core league attitude is humorous.

Then again I am working on my defensive duo article still for Inside the Stats from 2007.

Actually, mfl automatically generates preview articles for each match up every week. One could just copy and paste that...

I know Shawn as well and he is a good friend of mine. So to see this post really rubs me the wrong way. With that said I am in this league and absolutely love it!! I will back Shawn 100% on this because he laid it all out in the bylaws what is expected of all owner's, and if you can't abide by those rules I don't feel sorry for ya. Submitting a lineup is REALLY not that hard, it only takes 5 minutes to do so OMG!!!

So PIP, it kinda sucks your gone because you had a good team, but rules are rules and not submitting your lineup and your lack of activity, in other parts of the league, cost ya. This league and the league Agent 575 commish are not considered your casual type of dynasty league that most of you are used too. They are much more and that is why they are way better than most MFL league's.

Sorry, broseph. I tried to follow your thoughts but started getting a sharp pain in my right temple.

Bottom line...Did this tool and die guy eat your rotting meat that you threw out back when your wife was being cheap and not buying you the good meats?

How is kicking a team out in mid season good for the league. If I was in that league I would be 10x more pissed that the commish kicked out an active team than if an owner failed to set his lineup once out 12 weeks. in my opinion the whole season is now compromised and if I was another owner I would demand my entry fee back.

and lol at the "casual" owner kicking the crap out of 'extremists' - maybe you should take up another 'extreme' hobby.

if you have a problem with the commissioners in leagues, payouts or particular rules, why not play at a sight like affl. or myffpc, or masters.. where although not 100% payout, some are fairly close without the hassle of the commissioner wanting an article on why your starting kirk cousins over alex smith or whatever. or worrying about payouts or guys bailing on the league.. and rules are clearly stated a head of time. (usually a thread a week about rules and what not)

i consider myself a very active owner but the articles seems to be a bit much

i will say i am intrigued at joining a league like this.

i am a bit surprised by it only being 110 dollar buy in considering the amount of active they want..

but then again it seeems to be clearly stated that he wants active owners. he dont want no scrubs

Pffft, how extreme can it be with only twelve teams?
i only play in 32 team extreme league.. we start offense linemen also.. gotta field a 40 team roster.

now thats what i call extreme!

ever have to sweat out a monday night game worrying about weather or not the left guard for the jets will pancake someone to win you a fantasy football championship and 50k.. i have.. now thats extreme

For everyone asking to hear Shawn's side it's not gonna happen. Shawn is a serious person of high moral character he is not the kind of guy that goes to a fantasy site and bashes a commish who was nice enough to give him his money back.

Warpig I don't know you but you should apologize. Shame on you!

pfft! that's nothing compared to my 53 man roster league. we start gunners and long snappers. bad snaps are worth minus 5 pts, and gunners getting a tackle holding back the returnman get a point for every yard they hold the return before reaching the 20. #hardcore
