Some of us still play week 17 games. I have been sitting on Greene in my dynasty league, and with the Jets locked into their playoff spot it looks like LT will be rested this week. That might make you think that Greene has a shot to play a lot, but there are rumblings of McKnight earning lots of time this week.

Any insight on how this will play out this week. Would anybody still playing games start Greene in a desperation move?

You would think this guy would have been the main guy by now and he's not even a young back for someone only in his 2nd year. He will be 26 by the time next season rolls around. FREAKING OUCH !!

Side note: I play in three FF leagues, one of which is heavy in Jets fans. In my other two, Greene went roughly two rounds before Greene did (in fact, I think Greene was selected before I took Michael Bush in my Jets league...right before). In general, Jets fans may have overstated the "demise" of Thomas jones going into 2010, but many were correct in that Greene would not be the man in NY. My guess is that over the next few years, LT will be replaced by another aging vet (possibly Bush, himself) and Greene will continue to be the second wheel thoughout his career.

Greene is expected to see a decent amount of action today, and LT will likely sit. One place I read on it, they are "fine tuning" him for the playoffs, like they did

last year. He could be a decent start if you don't have any better options. I would love to start him this week myself in my TD-only league, but his inconsistency

has me hesitant and I'm going with Kuhn over him.

I don't know. McKnight is expected to get a lot of work today. In my opinion, Greene plays a quarter, but no more than a half.

Sweet Love: I think Greene and LT were going to split carries evenly this year, but three things happened:

Greene had a critical fumble in the first game against the Ravens and was basically benched the rest of the game. The coaching staff then relied on LT in critical situations.

A much more versatile LT ran great while fresh early in the season. Greene clearly was a better runner in the second half, but it takes a lot of balls to sit LT.

The Jets lost their smash-mouth mentality while trying to open up the offense

Also, the line had to break in Slauson, while experiencing some injuries to Mangold and Woody

LT has one more season in his contract and it will be his last. McKnight gets a little more work next season and in two years, it's Greene on first and second down with McKnight on third down. Greene seems to have shown some improvement catching the ball this year. The Jets will probably draft another thumper in two years and break him in slowly. Just my guess though.
