Shonn Greene (1 Viewer)

Bayhawks

What kind of impact does McElroy have on Shonn Greene over the next few weeks? Greene has very good matchups in weeks 14 & 15 (Jax, Tenn); he could help some playoff teams reach the championship game.

I didn't watch the Jets game; after McElroy came in, how did the offense look? Was Greene at RB, or was it Powell? Will the Jets focus more on the running game, or does McElroy open up the passing game?

Any insight from Jets homers, or those who watched the game on Sunday, would be appreciated.

Jets wanna run the ball. Greene and Powell are essentially splitting carries. Greene has been solid lately but the offense holds him back. I doubt McElroy helps him much.

as most know... greene took a knee on the one yard line to ice the game, could have been a huge fantasy play. He is running tough and going to see alot of time no matter who starts.

Why do people keep repeating this fiction? Season stats:

Greene: 210 carries

Powell: 70 carries

Last 3 games (where Powell has been more heavily used):

Greene: 56 carries

Powell: 35 carries

So for the overall season, Greene has 3x the number of carries as Powell. For the past 3 games, Greene has 60% more carries than Powell.

I would fully agree with a statement like "Powell is taking an increasing share of carries" but the way you phrase it implies an equal distribution, which clearly isn't accurate.

Thanks for the reply. I am aware of Greene "pulling a Westbrook," but I'm not necessarily asking about his FF points last week. 100 yards is a good fantasy day, and 100 yards + a TD is a great one, but I don't think we can count on TDs (unless you are talking about Arian Foster). I'm more interested in whether we can count on him to get touches (which it sounds like we can), and whether we think McElroy will be able to keep defense honest enough to give Greene running lanes.

Powell took the series with McElroy and for a while you would wonder if Greene was in the mix less now. Not the case Greene got 9 carries to Powell's three in the 4th quarter. I cant see a big change in Greene's production other than probably less sanchez turnovers. Greene has a nice playoff schedule and should be played with confidence.
