Explain to the parent that you are not comfortable taking a copied DVD without express written permission by the photographer and that you will not participate in any future illegal activities.  You are trying to be a good role model for your children.

The pics of the other kids are really for your child, not you. His teammates are people he's going to grow up with and are his contemporaries. Your child is who will derive benefit from those pics in later years. That's been my experience with sports pics anyway.
