Should I trade Patrick Willis? (1 Viewer)

I wouldn't do it this week since Pitt has a bye, but I have Lawrence Timmons on the bench right now and he is currently the #1 scorer in our league and has been putting up huge numbers. I've been hesitant to bench Willis, but with the way Timmons is playing it's next to impossible to keep him on my bench. In our league we only have one slot for a defensive player. Willis is obviously the more recognized name so guys are more likely to deal for him (the guys in my league seem to fall in love with names). Any thoughts on this?

Wrong forum, however I'd trade Timmons for an upgrade elsewhere while he's still the #1 guy.
Disagree. Keep Timmons. He's a beast on the field and is always around the ball. If he stays healthy, he will finish in the Top-3 for LB scoring... Maybe even #1. I'd never trade him. Besides, there isn't another defensive player you can trade him for that would be considered an upgrade 'somewhere else.' DB? Forget it... The differential between what you have now at DB and the best DB now (Chung, maybe?) is not worth it. Too many DBs with similar stats. DL? Ditto. Now, if you are considering trading him for an offensive player, it depends on what you can get.On the flip side, I wouldn't trade Willis, either for the same reasons.

Package for an Offensive upgrade obv. not a defensive upgrade.Hell, I'd trade Willis if the price was right. Last year I got Willis for Manningham at his peak LOL.You don't need both.

Yeah...that's was my thinking. It's tough to even bring myself to the idea, but Timmons has just been going crazy. This happens to be one of those leagues where guys only seem to want to trade for "name" guys, so I probably still wouldn't get anything for Timmons even though he's having a great year.

I am thniking of trading Willis as well - not because I don't hink he will be the highest IDP scorer in my league (a redraft league); but because of name recognition. I can plu in Tulloch, Morrison, Cushing or Henderson for an downgrade...but since we start 2 LBs and 1 flex (usually a LB) why wouldn't I consider this move?

That said...when I broadcast his availability I made it known that I would consider any offer than began with a bare minimum of two WR2s or 1 WR1 and we'll negotiate from there.

Willis will finish with better numbers than Timmons.
Right now there is no LB that I would want on my team more than Timmons. Anyone who has had the chance to watch a Steelers game or two would most likely agree. He is literally in almost every play. He is shedding blocks like he is playing against high school teams and mowing over his own teammates getting to the ball. He is playing at the highest possible level and it doesn't appear anyone can stop this guy once he is in motion. A complete maniac on the field is the only way to describe him right now.Don't get me wrong though, Willis is the best of the best and will finish at the top as usual. But, if Timmons keeps playing like this all year, I don't believe anyone would be able to best him including Willis. Everyone knows that the knock on Timmons has always been health and opportunity. For the first time in his career, he has both. If someone offered me Willis straight up for Timmons right now, I wouldn't do it. Catch a game if you can, he should have his own highlight reels.....

Well, I did finally trade Willis. Not because I wanted to, but because I HAD to.

Romo hurt, no viable QBs on waivers and I had dumped my only backup QB after week 5.

So, what can you get for Willis? A decent qb - although not a tier 1 qb and a throw in player (in my case I needed a db with Chung questionable).

Sorry Patrick, I'll get you back someday and never trade you again....until I am stuck without a qb again.

Tough call, but consider this key point: when Woodley is out Timmons moves to WLB and his numbers suffers huge, as in the case of Pitt vs Mia. So not only you have worry about Timmons' health butother LBs as well... Just a thought.

what QB did you get?

Ryan...but he has a decent schedule and when handcuffed with a matchup qb (i.e., Freeman or Fitz), he is serviceable. I wound up haveing to pick up Freeman. Didi I give up too much? Yes. However, losing Romo when not a lot was available on the wire was brutal. I can't replace Willis, just have to limit the damage.

Currently looking at guys like Clint Session or Orapko that are on waivers....my reamining LBs are Tulloch, Cushing and Henderson. I like the first two but Henderson is so up and down.
