Liquid Tension

Footballguy
I am interested in what people really think. Try not be a homer. Consider what he has done and compare it to other guys who have been suspended for issues other than failing a test.

Nobody wants to say why?My answer is no. This guy went away from the strip club and then came back with guns (from what i read) and then smashed a dancers head against the stage. I am not sure why he isn't in jail from what I read, but if Goodell wants to set the example this guy doesn't go near the field this year...and Ricky gets suspended for smoking pot??? WTF?

The suspension was given.

The suspension's been served.

With no further new occurrences, there's no reason not to reinstate him.

He's behaved in accordance to the suspension demands.

As far as I'm aware he has done everything the NFL has asked him to do. I say yes.
This is how I feel. I think he's feeling better about himself, maybe it's a new change of scenery, whatever but I think after staying pretty clean, it would be good to show this guy that good things happen to people that don't get in trouble. If this guy stays clean, and then still gets suspended, he could easily take the path, "See, I do what these people want and I still get punished. Screw this, I'm going back to my old ways etc..." Obviously not the way to handle it, but it's a possibility.Reward him and on the back end explain to him just how close he is to not having everything he's getting right now. I mean, the guy can make millions in the NFL, be a solid player most likely or he can screw up and be a guy who doesn't even have a job. I know that sounds like an easy decison for most of us but some people are just wired differently.

The guy is tool. But even tools should be allowed to participate in their chosen profession. Sitting out a year is sufficient penalty. Let the courts sort out the rest.

I said this in all the other threads:

There is NO WAY the commissioner would have allowed the trade, let him practice and let him play pre-season if he wasn't going to reinstate him. If stays out of trouble he is a lock to be reinstated. And with just over two weeks left, yes he does.

I disagree, he was supposed to stay clean and out of strip clubs and he didn't. He had a year suspension but has only been clean for about 6 months. I would make him go a year with no occurrences.I am talking about the incident where he punched out a/his lawyer in a strip club. The charges were dropped but he was breaking the conditions of his suspension.

I have to agree on this...he did the crime and served the time...Goddell is trying to make a statement (and I applaud him for it), but I would not be surprised if he poses a lifetime or long-term ban on a player that they try to sue for wrongly terminating a career (I am not lawyer, but that sounded pretty good)...Roy Tarpley in the NBA did not do this (to my knowledge), but with the amount of money in sports these days, I would not be suprised to see something like this attempted. Chances are said player would lose, but if they won, it could open the flood gates.

He has served his time and made reparations for his indiscretions at the 'scrip' [sic] club and he was rebellion. Let him play until he makes the next big mistake and then he will be bounced out for even more time.
