Should This School Administrator or Teacher Be Fired or Disciplined? (1 Viewer)

My children attend a small private school with about 700 students for K-12.  The director of the elementary school (K-5) is married to a woman who also teaches at the school--grades 7-8. Let's call them Mr. & Mrs. Frisky because there's a long standing rumor that they are swingers.  They're a good looking late 30s/early 40s couple who also have a daughter at the school who is a rising senior.  Mrs. Frisky is a tall blond--she'd be a step down from this chick.

There's another married couple who both teach at the school--let's call them Mr. & Mrs. Young.  She's a grade 4 teacher (my son's teacher in 2014-15) and a complete rocket--about a half step down from her.  He's a HS art teacher and they have a young child (in kindergarten) at the school.

Late this school year, rumors started swirling that Mr. Frisky and Mrs. Young had both left their spouses for each other.  Apparently, Mrs. Frisky gave her husband an ultimatum that he needed to choose either her or Mrs. Young because they'd grown too close for Mrs. Frisky's comfort.  Mr Frisky chose Mrs. Young.

Some of the repercussions from this affair are as follows:  Mr. Young has announced he's leaving the school--he's recognized as an excellent art teacher.  The Frisky's daughter has apparently been very upset at the goings-on to the point that Mrs. Frisky had to leave her classroom several times to placate her daughter.

Should Mr. Frisky and/or Mrs. Young face any discipline for their actions?  To be clear, Mr. Frisky is the school admin in charge of Mrs. Young.

Yes.  I think Mrs. Frisky and Mrs. Young should be forced to have relations with one another on camera for us all to view.

This is a real situation and I am asking for real answers.
Is there a school policy that prohibits administrators and teachers from being in a relationship?  I'm guessing no since Mr. Frisky was married to Mrs. Frisky.

The answer is unless there is a specific policy against a supervisor having relations with the help, no. How is the school governed. Is there a Board of Directors?

No policy against admins and teachers.  The present head of school is married to a teacher.

Chet, there has to be a governing board. And if enough of the benefactors are upset, then the governing board will do something to keep the money rolling in.

There is a board but I am more interested in your opinions--how would you feel?

How exactly does this affect the education of the kids at the school? sounds like the only one causing a disruption is the daughter. Discipline her, move on.

Actually I don't consider it any of my damn business who bangs whom. Unless it directly affects school operations I don't think it's any of my business. Since there is no policy there is no infraction. Termination will be messy and costly due to the lack of a policy. Time to find something new to gossip about.

Are you serious?

You seriously want laws to dictate who can bang who?

Dude. Consenting adults. Unless they're having an orgy in front of the kids, none of your #### business.

What if it was a gay couple? Would you want them fired for being gay? Because, really, there's no difference here.

When people start getting fired based on how you "feel" there's a problem.

My kid gets art once a week. I hope you consider yourself lucky.

I don't care who his teacher is schlepping. Let the adults do whomever they want to do.

Most companies have policies against relationships between bosses & subordinates. It's dumb of the school not to have such a policy, so that would be the first thing I would suggest to the school board. Other than that, unless my kid was directly affected in some way, not sure why I would care.

The question is how has this impacted Job performance?  Sticky question, as the school has lost one of their best teachers.  Also, did the situation cause gem to behave unprofessionally?  Stcky question...
