Excellent choice of knee injury keeps Quinn from Senior Bowl

Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn will arrive in Mobile this weekend with the other players competing in the Under Armour Senior Bowl, but he will not play in the game because of a minor knee injury.
This is either unfortunate or a poor choice. Quinn's value is trending down a bit and with Russell being an underclassmen and therefore not participating, this was Quinn's opportunity to regain some momentum. I wouldn't be surprised to see him slip further than people think a la Leinart.I completely agree with Maylock's comments on Kevin Kolb. I like what I've seen from Kolb and don't believe he's just a system QB. While I don't expect a Cutleresque ascension, I think he becomes a trendy topic after next week and moves up in the second tier in the 3-5 range among QBs and a Day One selection.

I think Quinn serves himself well by acting like the annual stud too good for the Senior Bowl. He may be trending down in the media, but that's expected based on his last performance. Most of the gurus and those with connections seem to be stubbornly ranking Quinn above Russell. Many examples out there. Anyway, the QBs in Mobile are good football players. Quinn may or may not have been able to stand out. If Edwards has a good week, he's got everything Quinn has, so does Stanton, and I agree with you and Mayock on Kolb. I think everyone on this board like Kolb. It's the right decision for Quinn. He never should have accepted to begin with.
