808. Ace Frehley - New York Groove

Originally had Hello slotted here with their original but Ace's version is so much better.
OH YEAH!!!

This takes me back. As soon as these solo albums were released, I had to have all of them...eventually. Ace's came 3rd - after Gene & Paul. Alas, I never got poor-pecker Peter's - so sad.

Anyways - I recall puttin' on all the make-up - grabbin' my pop's tennis racket for a guitar - and add'n some '70's platform shoes to top it off.

Then I ran the hood verbally KISS'n anyone within ear shot.

I know - no one will believe me - but, I really liked freakin' the neighbors out. I was good at.

Good times!!

806. Starbuck - Moonlight Feels Right

I know what you're thinking, WTF is this?  I don't think I ever  heard this until a year ago when it popped up on some Spotify playlist I was listening to.

Best Youtube comment: Blackman looks like a cross between Burt Reynolds and Gallagher.

Example #4 of the #### fest of music that was my high school times - though apparently, this didn't hit big until I was just off to college.

Anyone remember this cover by Fun Boy Three? Love the backing vocals and bongos. I find it super calming.
Our Lips are Sealed was written by Jane Wiedlin of the GoGos and one of the dudes from Fun Boy Three.  Go-Gos did it first and then Fun Boy Three did their version, so still a cover I guess, but they co-wrote it.

If you listen to the acoustic version by Jane Wiedlin  it strips up the other stuff and the song holds up even better - the hallmark of a great tune and deserved of a top 800 spot.

800. REO Speedwagon - Ridin' The Storm Out

I like this version with Mike Murphy on vocals much more than the live version with Kevin Cronin on vocals that inundates classic rock radio.
I cannot believe this band created this song.

Edit:  I've never watched this live performance before today.  It's a lock I won't see anything better and/or funnier for months to come.  Those pink pants!  Is he sporting tighty-whities under pink pants?

Kevin Cronin is such a great showman here...157 Riverside Avenue was always a highlight of the live shows....
