close second - "I'm Not In Love" ...pretty cool video on how they made it.
Oh man.
This was a K-Tel discovery for me. I had too many of those things.
Back in HS I would sing this as “your thighs around my face”.

Man, I was wild back then.

You should have heard me sing Billy Idol’s other hit “it’s a nice day for a...leg-spreading”I have a lot to learn.
So F'n great!
You need to record this - make it part of your stage show. You should have heard me sing Billy Idol’s other hit “it’s a nice day for a...leg-spreading”
I'll take 10, doc."Flexible Shuke" would be a rad band name.
(It also sort of sounds like the name of a sex toy that shuke is trying to pass off as a medical device. "So, how many gross of flexible shukes" can I put you down for? What? No! It helps with, like, sciatica...or something.")
Looking down from the trees...

People forget the dead so quickly.I missed this earlier.
I bet he forgot the Dead.
Robbie Blunt was the guitarist there on "Big Log". Surprisingly didn't do too much afterwards.Love the Spanish guitar on this song.
This was a great virtually out of nowhere song/album before Pearl Jam and Soundgarden hit it big. Even sadder now that it was written for Andrew Wood who overdosed and then compounded by the Chris Cornell suicide.
Stay tuned!ETA: do you have Godley and Creme in your 1,000 list as well?
Steely Dan?I would mention who this reminds me of, but I don't think you have selected for them yet.
Perfect morning piece.
But where do I slot it?1,001 favorite songs by 1,001 favorite artists.
Good pick for Michael Jackson. This would be in my top 300 if it weren't for those pervy allegations.
Knock everything else back one slot from wherever you insert it - or just list some number twice. Knowing this board someone would complain but most will not care. But where do I slot it?

Need to start the whole thing over imo. For integrity.I’m trying to maintain some integrity here
no way, big fan of the shuke.I see you’ve clocked in. I’m hoping for some great songs and maybe even a fist fight with you and Binky.
BumpI'm going to admit that for some of these artists, the song I post may be the only one I've ever heard, so hopefully people will post their favorites of those I post (especially if they are lesser known).
this amount of inconsistency could get ugly.443. Jason Isbell - The Life You Chose
BONUS TRACK ALERT. Once again I had two songs listed for an artist when technically they're different.
443b. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - Hope The High Road
Up to 1002 songs by 1002 different artists.
Agree. Eyes without a Face is good but not Billy's best work.zamboni said:

it's a slippery slope.
I just never really know what constitutes a lesser known artist. The Orwells? Isabel? Neither?Bump
So, you busted a song down nearly 400 spots from where you had it slotted? That's harsh. Here I am at spot 441. The next song I have in my list is Freddie King - Going Down.
I'm sure you've heard this covered by many artists. This was released in 1971, and I couldn't remember if this is the original. I started looking, and realize that the original by Moloch was the song I posted at spot 837. King's version is superior, but not really sure I want to take two spots for the same song.
So I'm moving King's version to spot 837b. For 441, I'm adding an artist I overlooked. It's not as egregious as the other one I mentioned earlier, which I reveal later. But I just realized I left out Widespread Panic when I posted that Michael Houser tune.
I'm not a huge Widespread fan. People expect me to be based on my love of the Dead and Phish. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I dislike them, and I was lucky enough to see them before Houser's death and I thought it was awesome. But I just don't ever go out of my way to listen to them anymore.
441. Widespread Panic - Porch Song
This one takes a few minutes to get going, give it some time.
