Shuke's 1400 favorite songs by 1400 different artists. (5 Viewers)

Should I slow down then?
just tad, kind of gauge how the reaction activity is going - you may have to throw 3 or so out there and wait until some reaction/conversation starts.

not complaining, just hate to see so much more get thrown under the bus from just going too quickly.

I mean, don't go "the full tim stretch out" or anything.

Got it.  Kind of just want to be done, though.

Well - on this we agree!

Seriously, I really do love it, but I am such an anal listener, I hate to rush the listen. Thus, I do most of my true listening at other times. So, the pace doesn't bother me - I'll just insult you as I catch up.

Also - lots of ish has been happening recently - at least for me - and it seems others as well. I think that is a large part of it.

whatever the pace - I will keep up the listen - and will kepp insulting you.

Now - piss off.

This song get bonus points for the ability to successfully pull off at least 4 "swell"'s a some other really sappy ####

You got a thing about you
I just can't live without you
I really want you Elenore near me
Your looks intoxicate me
Even though your folks hate me

There's no one like you Elenore really

Elenore gee I think you're swell
And you really do me well
You're my pride and joy et cetera
Elenore can I take the time
To ask you to speak your mind
Tell me that you love me better

I really think you're groovy
Let's go out to a movie

What do ya say now, Elenore can we?
They'll turn the lights way down low
Maybe we won't watch the show
I think I love you, Elenore, love me

Elenore, gee I think you're swell
And you really do me well
You're my pride and joy, et cetera
Elenore, can I take the time
To ask you to speak your mind?
Tell me that you love me better

One more time!

Elenore, gee I think you're swell, ah-hah

Really = I love this song, but...  :lmao:

370. The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary

Here's a song from the 80's that I really didn't come to appreciate until decades later.
This is a good song.  I have always enjoyed it.  I probably like The Cult more than I realized if I think on it....Danny Duffy is awesome....but I've just never been able to take them very seriously when I see crap like Ian Astbury dressed like a cross between Vampire Hunter D and a pirate doing some kind of psuedo-ASL while air humping a stage.

No compromise
But willing to sacrifice
Believe what you want
Go on and be who you are
Go out and get what you want
Full of life

The stone is thrown, it's coming fast
The next thing you know
It's crashing thru the glass
Now we're down on our knees picking up the scraps
Whatever it takes we're gonna build it back

If you don't speak out
We can't hear it
Our love is always here
Here in spirit
And all those who came before
Here in spirit
And all those who came before
Here in spirit

No compromise
But willing to sacrifice
If the means to an end's in sight
And once the work is done
Go celebrate what you like
Go on and dance through the night
Go on be one with the light
Full of life

The stone is thrown
It's coming fast
The next thing you know
It's crashing through the glass
Now we're down on our knees picking up the scraps
Whatever it takes we're gonna build it back

Here in spirit

And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit
And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit
And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit
And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit

Call on me
Call on me
Call on me
Call on me
Yeah

401. Mac DeMarco - On The Level

This may seem out of character for me.  But this was a song played quite a bit by WNKU and it really grew on me.
After that last WNKU hit, I went back to another one I remembered, but had not listened to yet.

I like this one even better.

KY rox! 😜

boy, this could be your year

make an old man proud of you

forget about the tears

on the level

see me eye-to-eye

stand up like a man

even from the underside

on the level

man, I never had a choice

never had a chance

never had a voice

on the level

carrying a name fall until my final day

now who's there left to blame?

on the level

on the level

on the level

on the level

on the level

One of my top 10 bands.  No idea if I’d be able to pick just one.  Maybe their version of “Just Like Heaven” because the original is me and my wife’s “song”.  But Dino ‘s version is better.

Funny story about this song that I’ll probably tell later. Teaser: it involves a half naked me and three 18 year  old girls.  :steamy:

IMO this is one of the best “popular music” songs ever written.  Mofo goes back to the mid 1930s but still holds up like a champ.  Not a big fan of Art Garf’s Uncle’s version though.  He comes off as creepy.

355. Built To Spill - Goin' Against Your Mind

Also considered: Life's A Dream

A coin flip on this one.
“Carry the Zero” for moi.

:endhippling:

For the love of God, it better be the top half!

Look dude, I have no clue who you think you are - and don't ask me...

...but shuke, I'd put this neck beard on ignore!

:2cents:

Great song.
