Great song. Foo Fighters have a great cover of this.330. Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street
Also considered: Right Down the Line
Close to a coin flip here, but had to go with the sax.
I like much. I love just about everything put out by Carlos, but my favorite somewhat new is this:
Very good!
I am starting it now. No promises...324. Circles Around The Sun - Farewell Franklins
Who's in the mood for a 25 minute instrumental?
...guitarist Neal Casal formed the band with keyboardist Adam MacDougall (his bandmate in the Chris Robinson Brotherhood), bassist Dan Horne and drummer Mark Levy to record some Grateful Dead-influenced instrumentals to be played during the set breaks at the Dead’s “Fare Thee Well” concerts.
Like these guys.
Better - yes...Better?I was a KISS Army member during the 70s.
You had to be there...
However - and sorry to say - this is not a song I like much.
Bink was right.
No anger tho - I can cope.
TRIPLE Dog?!Triple Dog Dare!!!Odd - I'm consider'n :Light'n One Up
Heading down to the KY tomorrow. Not your way, though.I am always off...
good song, I think their only song of note really.
Cool..hope you have a good time.Heading down to the KY tomorrow. Not your way, though.
Going to the gorge, actually. Going with my son's boy scout trip this weekend. Usually do that once a year and get down a few other times a year. Doing via ferrata, which is like rock climbing with rebar and cables.Cool..hope you have a good time.
Are you just hitting N. KY or going in deeper? I saw that you mentioned camping earlier. I am a rabid outdoors-dude (when healthy).
My favorite place in KY is Red River Gorge. My most epic story happened there.
So, what's the plans?
Btw, this is progressing nicely.I am starting it now. No promises...324. Circles Around The Sun - Farewell Franklins

Alright. I like it a lot. By the end, it really ramp'd up the energy after a relaxing set-up and jazzy adventure.Btw, this is progressing nicely.I am starting it now. No promises...324. Circles Around The Sun - Farewell Franklins

I have not gotten to end, but I have saved it to my youtube.
I also found a few live versions that I will listen to afterwards. I prefer live, often.
Damn, this is good. I've seen this band come up here and there and have never focused on them for whatever reason. I'll have to change that.
\mm/
So, so many good Muse songs that picking one over another is an exercise in futility to me. Have loved them so hard from the moment a friend turned me onto "Newborn" back in the early Aughts.
ANOTHER band that I enjoy most of their catalog. Had them in heavy, heavy rotation for a good little while. I daresay, though, that my favorite from them is a live acoustic version of "The Bakery" that they did in studio on....maybe Radio One? Absolutely freaking awesome. Well worth a listen if it's on the YouTubez. Fluorescent Adolescent is up there for me too.
*raises hand*Who else has off tomarrow>!?!
Still one of the best names for a band ever.
I just took this exact song (We Were Promised Jetpacks - It's Thunder And It's Lightning) in the last round of Genrepalooza 3!Damn, this is good. I've seen this band come up here and there and have never focused on them for whatever reason. I'll have to change that.
I'm more offended you thought I was from Detroit.
They are an excellent live band and are touring the US this summer. Highly recommend.Damn, this is good. I've seen this band come up here and there and have never focused on them for whatever reason. I'll have to change that.
Thanks for that info. They play a club an hour from me on 7/22. I may go see that show; the first one in a long time for me.They are an excellent live band and are touring the US this summer. Highly recommend.
I have off and on, but this has been on my list for a while. Have you posted it in the past?I just took this exact song (We Were Promised Jetpacks - It's Thunder And It's Lightning) in the last round of Genrepalooza 3!
Has shuke been reading the thread?
I might have in the Friday earworm thread, but that's cool that you posted it here. Love the song, love the lyrics.I have off and on, but this has been on my list for a while. Have you posted it in the past?
Been catching up on this thread and appreciate the work you've done. Found some good music that I otherwise wouldn't ever heard before. Keep up the good work but with that being said you got this one wrong (I know its what you like). It's a decent song but Crue is the quintessential hair band who's sole purpose was to pump people up with a kick ### rock songs and you choose this ballad nonsense? Kick Start my Heart or Shout at the Devil or maybe even Wild Side was the choice here. I've said my peace keep up the good work.shuke said:

Glad to see they made the cut. Great tune.
Too Fast For Love is probably my favorite album of theirs. I think it's their best, too. They were a lot sloppier but with better riffs and songwriting back when they were desperate and leather-clad vs. hair metal glam.I've always been partial to Livewire. It's a bit more sloppy than their later stuff, but that captures their essence better IMO.
The gloves are coming off Binks, prepare yourself.I think Sting's solo stuff is better than the Police.
fight me.
They were also some of Pete Townsend's backing band on Empty Glass.good song, I think their only song of note really.
I seem to recall the album this song was on - The Crossing, was on the Columbia House "Get 12 Cassettes" until they stopped that promotion about 20 years later.
Yep - also like True Faith - probably more than this oneGlad to see they made the cut. Great tune.
But if any of those songs came on, I'd change the channel or hit skip.Pipes said:Been catching up on this thread and appreciate the work you've done.
